They had temporarily escaped the factories, the warehouses, the slaughterhouses, the car washes - they'd be back in captivity the next day but
now they were out - they were wild with freedom. They weren't thinking about the slavery of poverty. Or the slavery of welfare and food stamps. The rest of us would be all right until the poor learned how to make atom bombs in their basements.

Hey yoooouuuuu guuuuuuys
One of my favorites from the 80s! So funny because I will yell that out in the middle of my office at work together with that high pitched laugh at the end. It always makes the peeps laugh.

Arguably the greatest movie ever made, no other film from this decade comes close exept Legend from the same director. At least, no film from the eighties

Spoorloos (George Sluizer, 1988)
Midnight Run (Martin Brest, 1988)

I pulled this from the favorite movies of every decade thread.

1.Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (1988)
2.Amadeus (1984)
3.Ghostbusters (1984)
4.The Last Temptation of Christ (1988)
5.The Blues Brothers (1980)
6.Wings of Desire (1987)
7.Moonstruck (1987)
8.The King of Comedy (1982)
9.E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982)
10.An American Werewolf in London (1981)

The most loathsome of all goblins
I've always loved Roger Rabbit. It'd probably be in my top 20 all time favorites if I made a list.
It's still the best example of live-action/animation combination. Lightning in a bottle, and the way it parodies film noir is unforgettable

This might just do nobody any good.
Hastly made top ten...

1. Raging Bull
2. Once Upon a Time in America (4 hour version)
3. The Last Temptation of Christ
4. Wings of Desire
5. The Thing
6. Paris, Texas
7. Blow Out
8. Raiders of the Lost Ark
9. Amadeus
10. Down by Law

There are so many great 80s movies, but if I had to pick a favorite, as difficult as that would be, ultimately I would choose Back to the Beach, starring Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello. Aside from being hilarious, and fun, the film is just a compendium of 80s style, music, and culture wrapped inside a film about 1950s nostalgia. It's a two-for-one win, and is my favorite 1980s film.
