Cassandra Gemini - The Mars Volta

I think I’ve become like one of the others
I think I’ve become like one of the others
I think I’ve become like one of the others
There was a frail syrup dripping off
His lap danced lapel, punctuated by her
Decrepit prowl she washed down the hatching
Gizzard soft as a mane of needles
His orifice icicles hemmoraged
By combing her torso to a pile
Perspired the trophy shelves made room for his collapse
She was a mink handjob in sarcophagus heels
Bring me to my knees
Read the sharpened lines
All my arms, bled me blind
Faucet leaks in shadows
Spilling from morgue lancet
Caressed your fontanelle
I’ve sworn to kill every last one
Every last one
Panic in the shakes of the wounded
Panic in the worms
Onto the floor
And out of your mouth
Out of your eyelids
No there’s no light, in the darkest
Of your furthest reaches
No there’s no light, in the darkest
Of your furthest reaches
All your dreams, splintered off
Leech by leech on this catafalque
Anyone will tell you, yes anyone
Chance had me setting a trip wire alarm
Your mother flirted with disease
When she skinned that costume by it’s navel strings
Panic in the shakes of the wounded
Panic in the worms, onto the floor
And out of your mouth out of your eyelids
No there’s no light, in the darkest
Of your furthest reaches
No there’s no light, in the darkest
Of your furthest reaches
No there’s no light, in the darkest
Of your furthest reaches
Shock lest shackles free you
Volt face cons
abandon you again
I won’t feel not this time
Brick by brick, the night eclipsed
Pricked by cuticle thorns
Dried the sleep on nursery slits
Into this life I’m born
Heaven’s just a scab away
I’d like to see you after just one taste
Sink your teeth into the flesh of midnight
Night forever more, let them see it has begun
The others I’ve become
If you should see the dice, charmed with
It’s snaked choked eyes
You’ll wear the widows weeds
Because they’re just your size
Behind the snail secretion, leaves a dry heave that absorbs
A limbless procreation, let the infant crawled deformed
A bag replaced the breath of these suffocating sheets
And now when the craving calls
I’ll scratch my itchy teeth
Come on and sing it now
Sink your teeth
Into the flesh of midnight, night forever more
Sink your teeth
Into the flesh of midnight, night forever more
She fell for the whispers, sister flooded deaf tears
That night tore a river, in her baron womb mirror
And his multiple sons with their mandible tongues
Set crucified fires to petrified homes…let it burn
And the owls they were watching
And the owls didn’t care
Then the owls came a knocking, placenta in their stares
They will feed on all the carnage, leftover from the flood
And in the corner of their eyes, fled sister L’ Via
Now the pieces went floating, reflecting all at dusk
Conceived from the stabbing, was Vismund Cygnus
Twenty five wives in the lake tonight
Raw bark in the water of the marble shrine
Twenty five snakes pour out your eyes
Yeah the icepicks cumming on the marble shrine
Twenty five snakes are drowning
You can’t bend your crooked arms or fold your punctured proof
The air is growing cold and there’s nothing you can do
Soon there’ll be no gauze, inside the confessional
Only rows of crows, defrocking every breath
And one day you’ll remember
Behind the melting cones, you always had a family
In the burial of your home.
I’ll peel back all of my skin
Peel back and let it all run
Brick by brick, the night eclipsed
Pricked by the cuticle thorns, dried the sleep
On nursery slits into this life I’m born
Havens just a scab away, I’d like to see you
After just one taste
Sink your teeth into the flesh of midnight
Night forever more, let them see it has begun
The others I’ve become
No there’s no light, in the darkest
Of your furthest reaches
No there’s no light, no there’s no time
You ain’t got nothing, your life was just a lie.

I am having a nervous breakdance
Let's Push Things Forward

This ain't the down it's the upbeat
Make it complete
So what's the story?
Guaranteed accuracy enhanced CD
Latest technology, Darts at Treble 20
Huge non-recuparable advance
Majors be vigilent
I excel in both content and deliverance
So let's put on our classics
And we'll ave a little dance, shall we?
No sales pitch, no media hype
No hydro, it's nice and ripe
I speak in communication in bold type
This AIN'T yer archetypal street sound
Scan for ultrasound North, South, East, West
And all round and then to the underground

You say that every thing sounds the same
Then you go buy them! There's no excuses my friend
Let's push things forward

As we progress to the checkpoint
I wholeheartedly agree with yer viewpoint
But this ain't your typical Garage joint
I make points which hold significance
That ain't a bag it's shipment
This ain't a track it's a movement
I got the settlement
My frequencies are transient
And resonate your eardrums
I make bangers not anthems
Leave that to the Artful Dodger
The broad shouldered 51% shareholder
You won't find us on Alta Vista
Cult classic, not bestseller
Your gonna need more power,
Plug in the freephase and the generator
Crank it up to the gigawatts
Critics ready with the potshots, the plot thickens
Put on yer mittens for these sub-zero conditions
But remember I'm just spittin',
Remember I'm just spittin'
Once bitten, forever smitten

You say that everything sounds the same
Then you go buy them! There's no excuses my friend
Let's Push Things Forward

Spilt jewels like Eastern Riches
Junkie Fixes
Around 'ere we say Birds, not b!tches
As London Bridge burns down, Brixton's burning up
Turns out your in luck
Cos I know this dodgy fück in The Duck
So it's just another showflick from your
Local City Poet
Case you geezers don't know it
Lets Push Things Forward
It's a tall order, but we're taller
Calling all mawlers, backstreet brawlers
Cornershop crawlers, victory's flawless
Love us or hate us, but don't slate us
Don't conform to formulas
Pop genres and such Sharp darts, double Dutch
Parked cars, troubles a much with more Bud
Let's Push Things Forward

You say that everything sounds the same
The you go buy them! There's no excuses my friend
Let's Push Things Forward.

now they were out - they were wild with freedom. They weren't thinking about the slavery of poverty. Or the slavery of welfare and food stamps. The rest of us would be all right until the poor learned how to make atom bombs in their basements.

Cheap Trick ~ The Flame

Another night slowly closes in,
And I feel so lonely.
Touching heat freezing on my skin,
I pretend you still hold me.
I’m going crazy, I’m losing sleep.
I’m in too far, I’m in way too deep over you.
I can’t believe you’re gone.
You were the first, you’ll be the last.

Wherever you go, I’ll be with you.
Whatever you want, I’ll give it to you.
Whenever you need someone to lay your heart and head upon.
Remember: after the fire, after all the rain,
I will be the flame.
I will be the flame.

Watching shadows move across the wall,
I feel so frightened.
I wanna run to you, I wanna call,
But I’ve been hit by lightening.
Just can’t stand up for fallin’ apart.
Can’t see through this veil across my heart, over you.
You’ll always be the one.
You were the first, you’ll be the last.

Wherever you go, I’ll be with you.
Whatever you want, I’ll give it to you.
Whenever you need someone to lay your heart and head upon.
Remember: after the fire, after all the rain,
I will be the flame.
I will be the flame.

I’m going crazy, I’m losing sleep.
I’m in too far, I’m in way too deep over you.

Whatever you want, I’ll give it to you.
Wherever you go, I’ll be with you.
And whatever you want, I’ll give it to you.

Hello Salem, my name's Winifred. What's yours
Hang 'em high by my chemical romance
Wait until it fades to black
Ride into the sunset
Would I lie to you?
Well I've got something to say
Grab your six-gun from your back
Throttle the ignition
Would I die for you?
Well here's your answer in spades

Shotgun sinner, wild-eyed jokers
Got you in my sights
Gun it while I'm holding on

After all is said and done
Climb out from the pine box
Well I'm asking you
Cause she's got nothing to say
The angels just cut out her tongue
Call her black mariah
Would I lie to you?
That girl's not right in the brain

Mass convulsions
Strike the choir
By the grace of God
Gun it while I'm holding on

But, don't stop if I fall
And don't look back
Oh baby, don't stop
Bury me and fade to black

She won't stop me
Put it down [2x]

So get your gun
And leave me by the door

Don't stop if I fall
And don't look back
Oh baby Don't stop
Bury me and fade to black [2x]

In your white lace and your wedding bells
You look the picture of contented new wealth
But from the on-looking fool who believed your lies
I wish this grave would open up and swallow me alive
For the bitterest pill is hard to swallow
The love i gave hangs in sad coloured, mocking shadows

When the wheel of fortune broke, you fell to me
Out of grey skies to change my misery
The vacant spot, your beating heart took its place
But now i watch smoke leave my lips and fill an empty room

For the bitterest pill is hard to swallow
The love i gave hangs in sad coloured, mocking shadows

The bitterest pill is mine to takeIf i took if for a hundred years, i couldn't feel any more hate

Now autumn's breeze blows summer's leaves through my life
Twisted and broken dawn, no days with sunlight
The dying spark, you left your mark on me
The promise of your kiss, but with someone else

For the bitterest pill is mine to swallow
The love i gave hangs in sad coloured, mocking shadows

The bitterest pill is mine to take
If i took if for a hundred years, i couldn't feel anymore ill!

On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy, and my sight grew dimmer
I had to stop for the night
There she stood in the doorway;
I heard the mission bell
And I was thinking to myself,
'This could be Heaven or this could be Hell'
Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor, I thought I heard them say...

Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place (such a lovely place)
Plenty of room at the Hotel California
Any time of year, you can find it here

Her mind is Tiffany-twisted, She got the Mercedes Benz
She's got a lot of pretty, pretty boys, that she calls friends
How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat.
Some dance to remember, some dance to forget
So I called up the Captain, 'Please bring me my wine'
He said, 'We haven't had that spirit here since 1969'
And still those voices are calling from far away
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say...

Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely Place (such a lovely face)
They livin' it up at the Hotel California
What a nice surprise, bring your alibis

Mirrors on the ceiling, the pink champagne on ice
And she said 'We are all just prisoners here, of our own device'
And in the master's chambers, they gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives, but they just can't kill the beast
Last thing I remember, I was running for the door
I had to find the passage back to the place I was before
'Relax' said the nightman, We are programed to receive.
You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave

I am having a nervous breakdance
Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me

Last night I dreamt
That somebody loved me
No hope, no harm
Just another false alarm

Last night I felt
Real arms around me
No hope, no harm
Just another false alarm

So, tell me how long
Before the last one ?
And tell me how long
Before the right one ?

The story is old - I know
But it goes on
The story is old - I know
But it goes on

King Crimson - The Letters

With quill and silver knife
She carved a poison pen
Wrote to her lover's wife:
"Your husband's seed has fed my flesh."

As if a leper's face
That tainted letter graced
The wife with choke-stone throat
Ran to the day with tear blind eyes.

Impaled on nails of ice
And raked with emerald fire
The wife with soul of snow
With steady hands begins to write.

"I'm still, I need no life
To serve on boys and men
What's mine was yours is dead
I take my leave of mortal flesh"

All good people are asleep and dreaming.
FOLSOM PRISON BLUES

I hear that train a-commin', it's rollin' around the bend
And I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't know when
I'm stuck in Folsom prison and time keeps draggin' on
But that train keeps a-rollin' on down to San Antone
When I was just a baby, my mama told me, son
Always be a good boy, don't ever play with guns
But I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die
When I hear that whistle blowin', I hang my head and cry

I bet there's rich folks eatin' in a fancy dining car
They're probably drinking coffee and smoking big cigars
But I know I had it coming, I know I can't be free
But those people keep a-movin' and that's what tortures me

Well if that freed me from this prison
and that railroad train was mine
I bet I'd move it on a little farther down the line
Far from Folsom prison, that's where I want to stay
And I'd let that lonesome whistle blow my blues away

I got for good luck my black tooth.
Bob Dylan's 115th Dream

I was riding on the Mayflower
When I thought I spied some land
I yelled for Captain Arab
I have yuh understand
Who came running to the deck
Said, "Boys, forget the whale
Look on over yonder
Cut the engines
Change the sail
Haul on the bowline"
We sang that melody
Like all tough sailors do
When they are far away at sea

"I think I'll call it America"
I said as we hit land
I took a deep breath
I fell down, I could not stand
Captain Arab he started
Writing up some deeds
He said, "Let's set up a fort
And start buying the place with beads"
Just then this cop comes down the street
Crazy as a loon
He throw us all in jail
For carryin' harpoons

Ah me I busted out
Don't even ask me how
I went to get some help
I walked by a Guernsey cow
Who directed me down
To the Bowery slums
Where people carried signs around
Saying, "Ban the bums"
I jumped right into line
Sayin', "I hope that I'm not late"
When I realized I hadn't eaten
For five days straight

I went into a restaurant
Lookin' for the cook
I told them I was the editor
Of a famous etiquette book
The waitress he was handsome
He wore a powder blue cape
I ordered some suzette, I said
"Could you please make that crepe"
Just then the whole kitchen exploded
From boilin' fat
Food was flying everywhere
And I left without my hat

Now, I didn't mean to be nosy
But I went into a bank
To get some bail for Arab
And all the boys back in the tank
They asked me for some collateral
And I pulled down my pants
They threw me in the alley
When up comes this girl from France
Who invited me to her house
I went, but she had a friend
Who knocked me out
And robbed my boots
And I was on the street again

Well, I rapped upon a house
With the U.S. flag upon display
I said, "Could you help me out
I got some friends down the way"
The man says, "Get out of here
I'll tear you limb from limb"
I said, "You know they refused Jesus, too"
He said, "You're not Him
Get out of here before I break your bones
I ain't your pop"
I decided to have him arrested
And I went looking for a cop

I ran right outside
And I hopped inside a cab
I went out the other door
This Englishman said, "Fab"
As he saw me leap a hot dog stand
And a chariot that stood
Parked across from a building
Advertising brotherhood
I ran right through the front door
Like a hobo sailor does
But it was just a funeral parlor
And the man asked me who I was

I repeated that my friends
Were all in jail, with a sigh
He gave me his card
He said, "Call me if they die"
I shook his hand and said goodbye
Ran out to the street
When a bowling ball came down the road
And knocked me off my feet
A pay phone was ringing
It just about blew my mind
When I picked it up and said hello
This foot came through the line

Well, by this time I was fed up
At tryin' to make a stab
At bringin' back any help
For my friends and Captain Arab
I decided to flip a coin
Like either heads or tails
Would let me know if I should go
Back to ship or back to jail
So I hocked my sailor suit
And I got a coin to flip
It came up tails
It rhymed with sails
So I made it back to the ship

Well, I got back and took
The parkin' ticket off the mast
I was ripping it to shreds
When this coastguard boat went past
They asked me my name
And I said, "Captain Kidd"
They believed me but
They wanted to know
What exactly that I did
I said for the Pope of Eruke
I was employed
They let me go right away
They were very paranoid

Well, the last I heard of Arab
He was stuck on a whale
That was married to the deputy
Sheriff of the jail
But the funniest thing was
When I was leavin' the bay
I saw three ships a-sailin'
They were all heading my way
I asked the captain what his name was
And how come he didn't drive a truck
He said his name was Columbus
I just said, "Good luck."

The best story song of all time.

Put me in your pocket...
In My Daughter's Eyes
~Martina McBride

In my daughter's eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and the
world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me gives me
strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes

And when she wraps her hand
around my finger
Oh it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about

It's hangin' on when your heart
has had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
Though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you see how happy
she made me
For I'll be there
In my daughter's eyes

Starcraft good in 97' good now
slick rick Childrens story:

Once apon a time not long ago
When people wore pajamas and lived life slow
Laws were stern and justice stood
And people were behaving like they're all too good

There lived a little boy who was mislead
By another little boy and this is what he said
"Me and you tonight we gonna make some cash,
robbing old folks and making a dash"

They did the job, money came of ease,
but one couldn't stop it's like he had a disease
He robbed another and another and a sister and a brother,
He tried to rob a man who was a DT undercover

The cop grabbed his arm, he started acting erratic
He said "keep still boy, no need for static"
Punched him in his belly and he gave him a slap,
But little did he know the little boy was strapped

The kid pulled out a gun, he said "why'd you hit me?"
The barrel's headed straight for the cops kidney.
The cop got scared, the kid he starts to figure
"I'll do years if I pull this trigger"

So he cold dashed and ran around the block
Cop radios in to another lady cop
He ran by a tree, there he saw the sister
Shot for the head, he shot back but he missed her

Looked 'round good and from expectations
He decided to head for the subway station
But she was coming and he made a left
He was running top speed till he was out of breath

Knocked an old man down and swore he killed him ("sorry")
Then he made a move to an abandoned building
Ran up the stairs up to the top floor
Opened up a door and then guess who he saw?

Dave the dope fiend shooting dope
Who don't know the meaning of water nor soap
He said "I need bullets, hurry up, run!"
The dope fiend pulled out a spanking shotgun

They went outside
There were cops all over
So they dipped into a car
A stolen Nova

Raced up the block doing 83
Crashed into a tree near the university
Escaped alive although the car was battered
Rat-a-tat tatted and all the cops scattered

Ran out of bullets
And he still had static
Grabbed the pregnant lady
And pulled out the automatic

Pointed at her head
He said the gun was full of lead
He told the cops
"Back off, or honey here's dead"

Deep in his heart
He knew he was wrong
So he let the lady go
And he starts to run on

Sirens sounded
And he seemed astounded
And, before long
The little boy got surrounded

He dropped the gun
And so went the glory
And this is the way
I have to end this story

He was only ("what?") seventeen
In a madman's dream
The cop shot the kid
I still hear him scream

This ain't funny
So don't you dare laugh
Just another case
About the wrong path

Straight and narrow
While your soul gets cast
Goodnight.

The People's Republic of Clogher
John Lennon - Working Class Hero

As soon as your born they make you feel small,
By giving you no time instead of it all,
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
They hurt you at home and they hit you at school,
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool,
Till you're so f*cking crazy you can't follow their rules,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years,
Then they expect you to pick a career,
When you can't really function you're so full of fear,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV,
And you think you're so clever and classless and free,
But you're still f*cking peasents as far as I can see,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
There's room at the top they are telling you still,
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill,
If you want to be like the folks on the hill,
A working class hero is something to be.
A working class hero is something to be.
If you want to be a hero well just follow me,
If you want to be a hero well just follow me.

Shane MacGowan - The Song With No Name

Long years ago I fell in love
With a lady proud and fair
So passionate were she and I
We made fire in the air
I loved her more than life itself
She loved me just the same
And it broke my heart
To think we'd part if she ended the affair

But I was brutal, I was ignorant
I was cruel I was brash
I never gave a damn about
The beauty that I smashed
No sadist I, I took delight
In making my Love cry
Now I'd pray for a single kiss from her
To be lashed and crucified

And now I feel this lady fair
Can never more be mine
Long gone are night in my lonely bed
All suffering and crying
And though I fear that through this life
She'll only call me friend
'Till I'm dead and buried in my grave
My Love will never end

That's one song that, for a few reasons, I truely wish I'd written. It still brings tears to my eyes.

He is an accquired taste as his vocals are strained and wispery, but it coats his songs with powerful emotion that he couldn't get out of singing normally. For the uninnitiated, his most acessible album is probably Figure 8, but it is way too overproduced to really capture his sound, which is done best on his early work. I started with his last and posthumous album: From a Basement on a Hill and I would say that's the best one for a beginner. It is not as stripped down as his earlier albums but preserves his unique style. If you're a downloader, I'd reccomend you start with "Say Yes" as it is his signature song and one of his best, and almost poppy while still not caving in to a mainstream sound...I can't see anyone not liking it.

Standing in the Sunlight, Laughing
carry you around
ani difranco

how pleased can one
sun setting make you
if you humble yourself
to it?
how grateful can you
really say that you are
just to be here and live
through it?
and when beauty asks a question
how often do you reply?
how often do you wonder
about life on the other side?
on the other side of sorrow
on the other side of rage
on the other side of ok
ok at all
in any way
imagine what loneliness
will drive someone to do
now multiply that times me
and multiply that times you
now imagine what it would take to make this all happen again
and just when you think you're gonna cry
multiply that times ten
you
are distracting me
from all other activities
and i know the fact of your presence
will dominate my memory
of this restaurant, this table
this day and this town
cuz i carry you baby
i carry you around

November Spawned a Monster

Sleep on and dream of love
because it’s the closest you will
get to love, oh ah ...
poor twisted child
so ugly, so ugly
poor twisted child
oh hug me, oh hug me

One November
spawned a monster
in the shape of this child
who later cried,
"but jesus made me, so
Jesus save me from
pity sympathy
and people discussing me
a frame of useless limbs
what can make good
all the bad that’s been done?"

And if the lights were out
could you even bear
to kiss her full on the mouth
(or anywhere ? )

Poor twisted child
so ugly, so ugly
poor twisted child
oh hug me, oh hug me

One November
spawned a monster
in the shape of this child
who must remain
a hostage to kindness
and the wheels underneath her
a hostage to kindness
and the wheels underneath her
a symbol of where mad, mad lovers
must pause and draw the line.
Oh ...

So sleep and dream of love
'cause it’s the closest
you will get to love

That November
is a time
which I must
put out of my mind

One fine day
let it be soon
she won’t be rich or beautiful
but she’ll be walking your streets
in the clothes that she went out
and chose for herself.

I love Morrissey to Piddzilla.

I am having a nervous breakdance
Somebody

I want somebody to share
Share the rest of my life
Share my innermost thoughts
Know my intimate details
Someone who'll stand by my side
And give me support
And in return
She'll get my support
She will listen to me
When I want to speak
About the world we live in
And life in general
Though my views may be wrong
They may even be perverted
She will hear me out
And won't easily be converted
To my way of thinking
In fact she'll often disagree
But at the end of it all
She will understand me

I want somebody who cares
For me passionately
With every thought and with every breath
Someone who'll help me see things
In a different light
All the things I detest
I will almost like
I don't want to be tied
To anyone's strings
I'm carefully trying to steer clear
Of those things
But when I'm asleep
I want somebody
Who will put their arms around me
And kiss me tenderly
Though things like this
Make me sick
In a case like this
I'll get away with it
