My Favorite Bill Murray Performances

Tools

I haven't and I was considering watching it before completing this list.

WHAT!? Ohmigosh you need to see it! Its his only reason for having done Ghostbusters was he wanted this role. He was hoping it would break him into dramatic roles, but even though he did a good job, it never bloomed for him.

Edit in - Nevermind, I read on and saw you saw it.

OK, I'm going to just throw this out there...is there anything else you folks think I need to watch before completing this list? Funny Face said I should watch something called Get Low, anything else?

Sent you a PM Gideon. I think you'd like Get Low, but not sure if his performance would make your list. Also included other recommendations.

And hated it...motivated me to check out the original 1947 film though.
I surprisingly didnt mind it but never saw it twice either. Never saw the 1947 version, and wouldnt be surprised if it was better. I was impressed with his dramatic acting. Better than anyone else could have done from SNL.

He's done better dramatic work though....he was way better in Lost in Translation and Broken Flowers.

movie

Just post your favourites as they are now Gideon. Bill Murray is a very popular actor so you will be here all year/years/life/ going through everything that people think is worthy. Especially since in my experience people say i didn't like the movie but Bill was great more than any other actor.

Camo, I was just about to come here and ask that you guys indulge me while I watch one more movie, but maybe you're right, I should just go ahead and do this...I mean, it's not like I'm not to going to get to everything and I haven't seen everything and someone out there will be unhappy with the list anyway, so maybe I should just go ahead and do this. I do have other lists I want to get to.

John Bosley, Charlie's Angels

Can't tell you how crushed I was when I saw Full Throttle and found the late Bernie Mac playing Bosley...I later learned that Bill and Lucy Lieu did not get along at all and that's why he didn't appear in the sequel.

15.

Frank Cross, Scrooged

With the help of an impressive all-star cast, Murray's underrated variation on Ebeneezer Scrooge is one of my favorites and makes this film seem a lot better than it really is.

14.

Tripper, Meatballs

Murray was memorable as an off the wall camp counselor who manages to get through to a very introverted kid (Chris Makepiece).

Charlie's Angels is in my top ten worst films of all time, HK knows this well but i'm still expecting a post comment for this .

I loved Scrooged when i was a kid. I actually remember the first time i ever tried to stay up all night to get my presents that Scrooged started at 1AM and i fell asleep during it. In the morning i kind of wanted to watch the rest of Scrooged more than anything . I don't think i've ever actually watched the last 15 minutes thinking about it now.

13.

John Ringer, Stripes

Murray rules as a guy who decides to changes his disintegrating life by joining the army and convincing his BFF (the late Harold Ramis) to join with him.
