The Opposite Thread

I love reading the posts that reply to some threads in this forum, where members argue (discuss) a topic and they take one side of the issue and vehemently, and intelligently support their opinions. So I was wondering, being as intelligent as they are, if they could switch their opinions, just for this thread, and argue in FAVOR of a topic they disagree with, or support a topic they don't agree with.

I'll start:

I think organized religion, especially Christianity, should be instilled upon society because it does more good than harm. Christianity solves many problems. First it helps people to realize there is a greater power in the universe, and that everything one does reflects upon them on judgement day. If a person has led a good Christian life, he or she will be rewarded in the after-life. However, if he or she has decided to live la life of sin, they will be punished eternally. That means it would behove a person to live a wholesome life; going to church, helping the needy, praying for the sinners. If everyone embraced God, we wouldn't have half the problems we do in the world.

I agree with you Ugly, being an upstanding heterosexual male myself. Besides homosexuals choose to be gay anyway, meaning they already know the difference between right and wrong.

I support local businesses and nothing else, because any large companies that try to crush these "mom and pop" shops are quite plainly evil. I mean, Starbucks obviously doesn't make better coffee than local shops, and the only reason so many people drink it is because people are too stupid to think for themselves. Besides, I enjoy the atmosphere of small town shops like.... Jitter's. And I'm not just saying this because I don't understand the intracacies of capitalism.

I don't view it as the highest virtue of them all, but I certainly value it above those overrated virtues like compassion, reason, integrity, fairness, open-mindedness and honesty. What would our world be without rigid loyalty? Only weak-minded fools would ever go against their people, political party, country, family or friend on an issue just because they strongly believe in a certain position.

We should go back to our roots and let man be the head of the household again! Look at how different men and women are for crying out loud! ALL of those differences are obviously caused 100% by nature, having nothing at all to do with societal customs and attitudes. We are obviously the stronger species, and women need to step off and listen to their masters. When will men be men again? Aren't Chris' ideas about atheists completely correct? In fact, everyone should follow his lead and adopt a bunch of C.S. Lewis ideas, because that great writer comes from a completely unbiased place and makes more sense than anyone! It Pi$$es me off that CGI is getting rid of all old movie techniques like REAL chracters instead of CGI characters. Sure CGI looks better but it doesnt look REAL!
