Movies you are ashamed to admit you have never seen

I never could get the hang of Thursdays.
I'm slightly ashamed that I've never seen Saving Private Ryan. I do now have it to watch, though, when I get a chance.

The trouble with the mofo lists is that there's no hiding and pretending you've watched a film when you haven't... so anyone can take a look and tell me what I should be ashamed of never having watched.

I have seen Casino but not Goodfellas. I even OWN Goodfellas, but it seems like everytime I go to grab it out of my collection my wife asks "haven't we seen that one?", and I have to explain that it was Casino that we have seen, but we end up watching a different movie altogether. I really want to see it though, and after typing this confessional - I might just watch it today after work :P

I have seen none of the Harry Potter films except for the one directed by Alfonso Cuaron. I have no interest in seeing them, but they're such a cultural phenomenon that I'm embarrassed when people talk about details from the stories that I'm completely clueless about. It's almost expected, common knowledge. I get the same sh*t when people find out I don't have a Facebook.

BTW, Shabutie, those are all required viewing, so get on that!!

Eh, sure but people could lie about it and just check it off anyways. I've know that I've seen some that I haven't checked off, but I decided to just check off ones that I completely remember.

One of my good mates admitted hes never seen any Star Wars movies, his 21.. how is that possible.

Not some people's cup of tea. I'm 22 and I have seen parts of it back in the day but not any of the movies entirely.

I'm not ashamed of not seeing any movie. If it's supposed to be something and I haven't seen it and it's available, it probably doesn't interest me. There are a few accalimed movies I started to watch and gave up on like The English Patient (bor-ing) and that Theron starrer Monster (mannered acting and boring).

When these threads with titles that include "Embarrassed" or "Ashamed" or "Guilty", you're not really supposed to actually feel that way about any of them. It's just a way of communicating the 'type' of thing to list.

Here, There and Everywhere
Stealing from what some people have already mentioned:

The Godfather
The Aviator
Gladiator
A Beautiful Mind
Avatar
Citizen Kane
Clockwork Orange
Clerks

What makes it bad is that I own every single one of those movies lol...

Well, if it helps any, you can skip these three or, at least, leave them till you've seen the others.

Don't know about A Beautiful Mind and Clockwork Orange but I heard Gladiator is epic haha, should I really watch the other movies over it?

I really would, but there's defenders for all those movies I relegated. Actually, I've just seen that you've got Avatar on that list (my eyes must've been trying to protect me) and, even though I've not seen the film, I'd watch the three films I mentioned over it. Actually, why are you 'ashamed' not to've seen it? I'm proud.

As a great man said earlier in this thread:

I'm assuming you're a man? Haha anyway, I'm not ashamed, it's just that due to it's popularity since its release, and with such mixed reviews from both my friends and critics, it would make sense for me to see it and form an opinion for my self, especially since I have a Blu-Ray copy and the best surround sound known to man.
