George A. Romero's Diary of the Dead on DVD May 20th

Genius Products and The Weinstein Company will be releasing George A. Romero's Diary of the Dead (SRP $24.95) which stars Michelle Morgan, Joshua Close, and Shawn Roberts onto DVD May 20th. The film will be presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound audio track. Complete specs and official cover artwork are below.

Just got around to watching the George A. Romero's Diary of the Dead DVD screener. It was the worst, most boring, lamest and idiotic film I have ever seen done by George A. Romero. Just absolutely terrible!!!! I can't believe he even put that picture out as one of his films. The acting is horrible, and the pace of the story is slow as *****. I am totally embarrassed for Romero.

I give this piece of crap a deserving .

i wasnt suprised that this movie rulled i really liked it and it is definitly Romero style!!

Day of the Dead and Land of the Dead get alot of heat as well and i think they are awesome, i guess i just love romero's work, i own every movie hes ever made in many different sets (like 2 versions of the DOTD vhs, both dvd versions, 5 NOTD dvd versions)

guess im a romero fanboy, cause i thought diary of the dead was great for what it is, just a fun zombie movie that pushes on alot of political issues and issues with whats going on with the world today, like how NOTD and DOTD did

Well, I might as well post this now since people seem to like me pretty well, but Night of the Living Dead is easily Romero's lousiest flick. It has passed into folklore, but I feel that has to do with zombie lovers and not at all with the piece of celluloid which shows the zombies (Yep, I must have seen it about 10 times). I also find Halloween to be one of Carpenter's crappiest. (Sorry, Prospero, this has nothing to do with you; I just felt like nothing was going on, and I was going to see if people would get pissed at me. Go ahead and feel free to bomb me.)

I got this the other day, much better then i expected. I really liked it, but im a Romero fan boy so :P

I watched this today. I give it . Actually, of all the films which are supposed to have been captured on a video camera by one of the characters, I find this one to be the best yet. I think it moves right along and uses the Internet angle pretty well. It's also very gory and gets away with a lot in its R-rating. In almost every way, I enjoyed this more than Cloverfield. I thought the acting was much better, and the photography was far more sophisticated while still being believable as the product of a very anal film school director. One other thing I enjoyed about this film is that it was able to overcome the basic flaw of almost every alien/zombie flick; it kept the military out of the story. The few moments in which the military do show are used for some potent social satire, but then again, the whole movie is a social satire. If you rent this, watch the special features. They may not make you think the film is any better, but the first section, the Character Confessionals, probably should have found a way to get into the film. I realize why they are all cut from the film since it would have slowed down the "action", but they do show the depth of the characters and the power of the acting, just in case you missed it in the film proper.
