Names which immediately make you think of a movie character

Tools

Let's put this to the test...

Clarice - unique enough to make an instant connection with Silence Of The Lambs.
Stella - oddly enough it makes me think of another movie character: Blanche. Alternatively, the Belgian beer brand Stella Artois.
Ben - nothing here. I guess it could be Ben Hur but this is about spontaneous associations, not speculations.
Sydney - ??
Carrie - "they're all gonna laugh at you!"
Daryl - Daryl Hannah (I thought she was a real person?) and secondly the underrated sci-fi classic D.A.R.Y.L. (1985)
Hal - actor Hal Holbrook
Marty - Marty McFly (such an irritating name )
Tristan - ?? I know there's a Tristan & Isolde but I've never seen it.
Jack - that would be a song for me (Jack To The Sound Of The Underground)
Smith - the association would be the many movie characters who tried to be as nondescript as possible.
Sam - ??
Dorothy - Bea Arthur's character in the sitcom Golden Girls (or, as Blanche used to pronounce it, "Daaahrathy")
Luke - It depends. No association in real life, but in an internet thread about movie name assocations it's Skywalker. Tricky!
Leia - to me this looks like a name that can only exist in a conversation about Star Wars. Never seen/heard anywhere else.

Darth
Spock
Data
Buffy
Biff
Marty
Scooby
Wednesday
Hannibal

To be fair, how many in real life are named Scooby? 😆
Yeah, it's kinda sad to see that people feel the need to cheat in a thread like this

So long as you're still giving me Darth Brooks, lesser known brother of Garth, Sith Lord and fixture of the Grand Ole' Opry, I'm fine with conceding with "Scooby" as a reach.

The Guy Who Sees Movies
I just recalled that Caligula makes me think of the same character in two movies that couldn't be more different....one a somewhat biblical story with Jay Robinson chewing the scenery as the mad emperor, but also having Micheal Rennie as the apostle Peter and the other......definitely NOT biblical, x-rated.

My pants ran off with an antelope.
When I hear "Tom" I immediately think of the headless horseman from Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow.

If someone says, "Wayne" I think of Dead Tom from Muppet Treasure Island.

These are serious. I am playing by the rules. I see no reason two random associations can't qualify for this thread.

The Guy Who Sees Movies
Wayne is always a guy who has a World.

Laura is a character in a 1940's movie....although sometimes Rob Petrie's spouse.

Yeah that would make sense too. I think my inclusions work. It asked "make you think of a movie character". The question didn't ask for it to make sense. Hearing "Wayne" and thinking of "Dead Tom" though works because the "Wayne" I knew passed away, so it kind of makes sense. I don't know why hearing "Tom" makes me think of the Headless Horseman.

Ben Kenobi? From a little movie called Star Wars?
Samwise Gamgee? Sam Tarly in Game of Thrones (not a movie, but hey, you brought TV
into this...)
Dorothy- I was thinking of a little movie called Wizard of Oz....
Leia- Actually I know a Leia in real life.

Totally agree with you about Carrie and Hal.
