Heterosexual man, heterosexual woman, but they don't have sex. They could be the same age, or not, but the focus has to be on them.

Every time I think I've got one, I realize, "Oh yeah, they had sex"

A documentary about OP's marriage?

Sorry, I'll see myself to the door. I actually like the prompt. Human connections run deeper than the skin.

Highly recommend the movie above... I'll give you a clue. It's from France, 1967.

But in general, I think it's like having to build something without a screwdriver. It can be done, but you have to be innovative (which is what I want)... Sex piques interest, and when they do have sex, there's probably a subconscious relief.

Yeah, but Katherine Hepburn attracts no one!
LOL! Except Bogey maybe (but after filming, he went home to Bacall)!

Speaking of Katherine Hepburn: Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967) is another love story with no sex. Sure, it's really about the whole interracial thing, but it's still a love story nonetheless.

In the recent Dungeons and Dragons movie, the two leads are both straight but in a non-sexual co-parenting dynamic.

The movie Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont is a really excellent film about a man who strikes up a relationship with a woman who has been basically abandoned at a retirement home.

This is actually easy - all you need to do is go back in time - find any romance movie before say 1960 and it's almost guaranteed you'll find thousands of love stories put to film with no sex in them.

Maybe put a limit on choices such as: only movies after 1960 to present?

Are you asking for movies in which we don't see or explicitly know characters have sex, or movies in which the relationship between the man and woman is non-sexual?

I'm assuming the latter, right?

Lots of old films before the 1960s would implied sex. The audiences of the day knew if a romantic couple, alone in a house or apartment, passionately kissed and the camera then panned to the window or a burning candle with a fade out to the next scene...The couple had sex.

True, but is potentially inferred sex to be included as movies "with sex"?

And lots of time such inferences are left up to the audience - people could argue whether it was definitely inferred, and others could just say, "I didn't see that inference, and I didn't see any sex - so as far as I'm concerned no sex occurred."

I never saw Harold & Maude (1971) in its entirety. Was sex inferred in that one or was it a romantic, yet platonic relationship?

There's a scene where they were in bed together, unclothed.

I would say yes, inferred sex counts, but only Matt could say for sure what he meant.

That reminds me of the all important question...how many times did Captain Kirk have sex in the original TV series? Of course we never see the actual act but it was implied a certain number of times. Some obvious and some not so.

There was sex involved, they just dissolved the scene.

This reminds me of the Thin Man movies - Nick and Nora were lusty, flirty, suggestive, drunk half the time, spent a lot of time in their bedroom and were married. Obviously they had sex and it was inferred by a lot of innuendo, but they were restricted by rules at the time to never be shown in the act - even in the bedroom if one of them were in bed, one of their feet had to remain on the floor!

So were those movies "with sex" because it was inferred (and socially acceptable since they were a married couple?)
Or would they qualify as Non-Sexual Movies b/w Man and a Woman?
