No don't you remember Coolidge left Belinda a huge envelope stuffed with money before she left the hotel?
You’re right, but wasn’t there something off about the gift? Not as substantial as had been planned? Can’t remember.

Yeah, I saw Carrie Coon's name in the credits but I haven't seen enough of her work to recognize her. The only other thing I've seen her in was when she played Ben Affleck's sister in Gone Girl
Didn’t know this.

The envelope was so stuffed it was unsealed if memory serves

Watched episode 1 again & I liked it better the 2nd time.

FYI Mook the pretty Thai girl speaks English & the guy who likes her is a security guard watching cars go in & out. I think I have it in place now. What does Walt Goggins see in his girlfriend & vice versa? Jonathan’s girlfriend is dazzling.

Took a look at the last scene between Jennifer C. & Belinda in season 1. I think Jennifer had proposed doing some business together, but then backed out & insulted Belinda with an envelope full of money, which she then tossed into a drawer & cried. Which Jennifer saw when she returned for her sunglasses.

This is a very weird season so far. It’s also not really clear what the story is that they are seeking to tell. The cast also seems to be quite odd as well. So far, I’m not enjoying this season. I’ve also been to Thailand and I really don’t see much of an authentic representation of the country or the culture.

Season Three, Ep 2. For a show whose seasons are only six episodes long, this show is really moving at a snail's pace. Not a whole lot going on in ep 2. Loved that red dress Leslie Bibb wore in the opening. Not sure where they're going with the three gals gossiping about each other behind their backs. Walton Goggins' bone chilling work was the highlight of this episode as we got some very sad backstory from the character that I'm wondering how much his girlfriend with the teeth is aware. She really doesn't seem to know this guy at all, indicated by the way she keeps planning treatments and activities for him without consulting him at all. That's definitely going to bite her in the ass at some point because she seems to be intent on changing this guy, which is just not going to happen. The tentative romance between the two hotel employees who don't speak English is putting me to sleep. Didn't understand the point of the jewelry store robbery where the guy got injured unless he was in on it. Saxon is a pig...a sexy as hell pig, but a pig nonetheless. Interested in seeing exactly how deep the sh*t is that Jason Isaacs' character is in. I have a feeling whatever might be happening is endangering his family as well. It was also confirmed that Jon Gries is playing the same character he played in season two, but he clearly hasn't talked to anyone about Tanya. I'm also not caring at all what's going on with Belinda. I better see some forward story movement in ep 3.

The Adventure Starts Here!
I have to go back & watch episode 1 again. Maybe it was me being tired, but it was all over the map & annoyingly confusing.

What’s with Goggin’s wife with the funny teeth? They seem very mismatched.

Yes, Belinda was the masseuse whom Coolidge befriended in season 1, but ultimately let her down financially. So she’s back, but now with her son. Doing some sort of something for 3 months in Thailand.

The other actress in the threesome is Carrie Coon, a well-known actress married to Tracy Letts. Gonna be mean & say she looked awful in her swimsuit. Not flattering at all & if I was her I would have asked for a better suit.

Regarding the ick factor some people have posited on X that the brothers are involved with incest.

Yes, Jonathan Gries returns.

Parker Posey I found so annoying. Over-acting & hamming it up.

Fairly sure the young guide speaks English, but have to double-check.
Belinda's with her son? How did I miss that? I thought she was in Thailand as an exchange, to learn their spa ways to take back to Maui (at least, that's what she says). How did I miss her son being with her? Or is he mentioned but not actually THERE onscreen?

Goggins's girlfriend (not wife) does have rather horse-like teeth. One of the staff actually compliments her on them, as a return comment when she compliments the staff member first. ("I love your teeth!") I immediately thought, Oh good, at least they mentioned the teeth.

Once you're hip-deep in episode 2 you can see that Carrie Coon's character is probably NOT supposed to be the best-looking of the three women. The other two are mentioning that she looks tired and run down, etc. So I'm assuming they purposely dressed her in slightly unflattering clothing.

As for the incest bit... yeah, those siblings are just... nah, something ain't right there with all of them, but especially the two boys.

I'm missing Tanya/Jennifer Coolidge this season. But this show does have a very dark underbelly, so... of course she didn't have a good ending.

Jason Isaacs is good as usual, but he flits in and out of a halfhearted Southern accent. I guess Parker Posey is making up for his unconvincing accent by overdoing hers.

Everytime I see Jennifer Coolidge I think its Bruce Jenner after his operation. This show isnt as charming as Id hoped itd be, halfway thru pilot. Was looking for something happy and light, yet good like Downton Abbey

Each season is its own story, and so far they have had comic moments and characters but also a darker side. This latest season (we're only two episodes in) seems the darkest so far... or maybe just the season with the least amount of humor.

They speak English!!! Everyone who works in a rich-people place like these needs to speak English.

All their scenes have subtitles and I haven't noticed them speaking English. And if they are speaking English, I can't understand a word they're saying.

Belinda’s son is in the very first episode where there are gunshots going off.

Goggins’s girlfriend was not complimented on her teeth by a staff member. The woman is Grier’s girlfriend. LOL at Goggins not seeming too too interested in his girlfriend’s pretty boobs. Ewww. Cringed at this scene.

Guessing the incest is between younger brother & his sister.

Isaacs is from Liverpool which is a hard accent to hide. Parker Posey chewing the scenery big-time. She’s so annoying.

Gideon said 2 episodes in & not much happening yet in a 6-parter. NYTimes is saying the same thing.

I like the woman in the threesome who has very straight hair. She is so pretty in her face & figure. Carrie does look frumpy & tired.

I think Stirchley means that they know HOW to speak English, not that they necessarily speak English while talking just to each other. No?

Gideon said he hadn’t seen two of the Thai characters speaking English. Not true. Both of them had small scenes where they spoke English to a customer.

Clearly I haven't been paying close enough attention to the episodes this season. I totally missed this too! AND Belinda's son being that guy from the opening scenes! Duh!

As far as I know, Belinda’s son hasn’t appeared again. He’d better hurry up as there are only 4 more episodes.
