It is also true that once they finally got everything in place they had to deal with COVID regulations and then the writers/actors strikes.

But after how lousy Beverly Hills Cop III was as the last distant entry and how lame Coming to America 2 was for Netflix, obviously tempered expectations would be wise. Because it is on Netflix and so many of us have access, surely most of us will watch it. If it is even just "OK" it will seem like a minor triumph.

I will have to hear reconnaissance reporting better than OK to click view on this one. Murphy was the king, once upon a time. I think we all still love him, but his time appears to have passed.

Not getting my hopes high, because it's Netflix, but it's nice to see they got Taggart, Rosewood & even Serge.

Eddie will always hold a place in my heart because of Delirious, the age he was when he made it and the age I was when I saw it.

That out of the way, his standing ($70m?) offer for a comedy special that he doesn’t want to do, tells me where he is as an artist now.

His girl really didn't want to party all the time.

I am so excited for this film. I just finished the trilogy, and heard that the film will release 5 days before my birthday.

Why does everyone crap on this film..? Sure the first one is best, but i actually think this one comes in a close second.

I'm an Eddie fan. It might be the fact I've seen all the 'Shrek', 'Daddy Day Care' & 'Beverly Hills Cop' films, but nothing can convince me this will be a bad movie.

It's out on Netflix now. I resubscribed to Netflix and watched it. Eddie Murphy does a good job and the rest of the cast, old and new, are all fine too. There is some decent action and a couple chuckles and the film is well paced. It's not as good as the original, but it is still reasonably entertaining. Worth checking out.

I desperately wanted it to be good, but this was so bad. I just feel sad for all the original cast that was involved with this.

I was kept well entertained during this. I think it’s a really good effort. I had fun. Nothing groundbreaking but not trying to either. A good time.

I saw this and found it to be quite disappointing. In some cases, they seemed to be copying aspects of the first two films in ways which were quite obvious. I did enjoy the use of the score from the first two films, which was missing from the third film. I was hoping for a really good film, as I had read that audience test scores for this film were very good, but I just found it to be pretty mediocre. The story is very weak, they have a lot of action set pieces that really don't fit the Beverly Hills Cop aesthetic or tone as depicted in the previous films that are often over the top. For example, they had a helicopter chase scene. The villain was also quite underdeveloped. It does have kind of a touching father daughter aspect to it, but other than that, I didn't really enjoy it and didn't see the value in making a fourth film after having seen it. It is better than Beverly Hills Cop III, but I enjoyed both the first and second film much more than this. This is not Top Gun: Maverick.
