#6

Friday the 13th Remake (2009)
Director: Marcus Nispel
Writers: Victor Miller(based on characters created by), Damian Shannon(story by), Mark Swift(story by)
Cast: Jared Padalecki, Amanda Righetti, Derek Mears
Genre: Horror, Mystery and Thriller
Runtime: 1 Hour and 37 Minutes
Rated R

As a fan of the films, I liked the remake over the original and atleast in this one we get to see Jason as the killer this time. I thought the actor that played Jason did well, giving us the Jason that we all want to see as this deadly killing machine that can’t be dealt with.

"Kill for mother.” – Pamela Voorhees played by Nana Visitor

#5

Live Free or Die Hard (2007)
Director: Len Wiseman
Writers: John Carlin(based upon the article "A Farewell to Arms" by), Roderick Thorp(certain original character by), Mark Bomback(story by)
Cast: Bruce Willis, Justin Long, Timothy Olyphant
Genre: Action and Thriller
Runtime: 2 Hours and 8 Minutes
Rated PG-13

This was a fun explosive action-packed installment from the Die Hard franchise as always it’s great to see John McLane (Bruce Willis) fight off the bad guys. This time he teams up with some young hacker (Justin Long to stop this cyber terrorist that’s causing mayhem in Washington DC.

"Yippie Kai Yay Motherf*cker."- John McClane played by Bruce Willis

#4

Wedding Crashers (2005)
Director: David Dobkin
Writers: Steve Faber, Bob Fisher
Cast: Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Rachel McAdams
Genre: Comedy and Romances
Runtime: 1 Hour and 59 Minutes
Rated R

A funny comedy about two men (Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson) that like to crash weddings to hook up with women. They both did a good job in this film, making the movie enjoyable to watch as they commit these humorous and immature acts while messing around during weddings. Imagine doing this kind of cruel behavior in real life, I would never attempt to crash any wedding.

"You know how they say we only use 10 percent of our brains? I think we only use 10 percent of our hearts." – John Beckwith played by Owen Wilson

#3

The Bourne Ultimatum (2007)
Director: Paul Greengrass
Writers: Tony Gilroy(screenplay), Scott Z. Burns(screenplay), George Nolfi(screenplay)
Cast: Matt Damon, Edgar Ramírez, Joan Allen
Genre: Action, Mystery and Thriller
Runtime: 1 Hour and 55 Minutes
Rated PG-13

Jason Bourne is on the run once again but this time trying to track down the people that made him on who he is, which is a trained assassin. I found the movie fun to watch with a good ending and as always Matt Damon does a fantastic job at his role as Bourne.

“This is Jason Bourne, the toughest target that you have ever tracked. He is really good at staying alive, and trying to kill him and failing... just pisses him off.” – Pam Landy played Joan Allen

Friday the 13th Remake (2009)
Director: Marcus Nispel
Writers: Victor Miller(based on characters created by), Damian Shannon(story by), Mark Swift(story by)
Cast: Jared Padalecki, Amanda Righetti, Derek Mears
Genre: Horror, Mystery and Thriller

i loved the original friday 13th movie but this one is okay

#2

Zombieland (2009)
Director: Ruben Fleischer
Writers: Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick
Cast: Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson
Genre: Adventure, Comedy and Fantasy
Runtime: 1 Hour and 28 Minutes
Rated R

One of the best things about the horror genre is when there's comedy in it with loads of zombie killing fun. The cast did a fantastic job with this movie and wishing the movie was a little longer because I found them interesting to watch as they explore the zombie apocalypse world.

"The first rule of Zombieland: Cardio. When the zombie outbreak first hit, the first to go, for obvious reasons... were the fatties." – Columbus played by Jesse Eisenberg

#1

The Departed (2006)
Director: Martin Scorsese
Writers: William Monahan(screenplay), Alan Mak(2002 screenplay Mou gaan dou), Felix Chong(2002 screenplay Mou gaan dou)
Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson
Genre: Crime, Drama and Thriller
Runtime: 2 Hours and 31 Minutes
Rated R

First, I got to say having Wahlberg and Damon in the same movie is just awesome. This movie is more like the police going against this organized mob and finding out as the movie goes on that there is a rat in the police department secretly helping out the mob, which they must find out and stop them before more sh*t hits the fan.

"When you decide to be something, you can be it. That's what they don't tell you in the church. When I was your age they would say we can become cops, or criminals. Today, what I'm saying to you is this: when you're facing a loaded gun, what's the difference?" – Costello played by Jack Nicholson

The 2000's was a good decade for movies and had a lot of fun and exciting films to enjoy as I see on my list, I enjoyed every single one of them. I hope you all enjoyed my 30 favorite 2000's Movies thread.

Next up, I'll be doing a favorite 2010's movies list, this is going to be nice one to work on.

I forgot the opening line.
It was a really great decade of films. Here are 31 from me (ones that correspond with yours in bold.) Why 31? Because I can't cut any more from this list - even just one to make it 30. I like these films too much :

Dancer in the Dark (2000)
Unbreakable (2000)
The Ring (2002)
Training Day (2001)
Oldboy (2005)
In Bruges (2008)
Requiem for a Dream (2000)
Kill Bill Vol. 1 (2003)
Kill Bill Vol. 2 (2004)
The Pianist (2002)
Adaptation (2002)
The Royal Tenenbaums (2002)
Broken Flowers (2005)
Million Dollar Baby (2004)
Zodiac (2007)
Napoleon Dynamite (2004)
Little Miss Sunshine (2006)
Inglourious Basterds (2009)
Memento (2000)
Borat (2006)
There Will Be Blood (2007)
Amélie (2001)
The Departed (2006)
Juno (2007)
Casino Royale (2006)
Brokeback Mountain (2005)
Shaun of the Dead (2004)
No Country For Old Men (2007)
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
Lost in Translation (2003)
The Dark Knight (2008)

These are the ones that came to mind straight away. I'm sure if I were thinking it over and adding titles over time there'd be some I've missed.

Others from your list that I really like were Zombieland, Tropic Thunder, The Hangover, Final Destination, Taken, Hot Fuzz, The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, The Simpsons Movie, War of the Worlds, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, King Kong, Batman Begins and American Psycho.

Superbad, Pineapple Express, and all the Bourne movies are movies I'm going to get around to watching pretty soon. I really enjoy watching any Friday the 13th or Final Destination movie - which are guilty pleasures for me.

Just thought to ask, What are everyone's favorite 30 2000's movies? you can list more or less if you like

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
We're probably having that countdown next, but if it acts as a recommendation thread for that, maybe. @Yoda

Yea probably so, if it wins I don't think it would be smart to put atleast ur top 25 on here if your participating in the countdown thread. Hopefully the 2000's countdown is next, it's long over due

I'm making a top 10 of my own right now, I still need 2 movies to wrap it up. I'm planning to watch Werckmeister Harmonies and I have a good feeling about it.

Wanted to bump this thread since the top Mofo 2000's countdown list is done, I know it's like a few months old but wanted to wait until that countdown was done, my favorite 2010's list is coming soon, my list has 20 movies on it so far trying to push 30 on the list.

Please Quote/Tag Or I'll Miss Your Responses
I didn't participate, partly because my computer is screwed up big-time and my connection is the cheapest concast package.. Part of it was that my final choices weren't even great movies and didn't want to give them too much praise. I'll just post my Top 10.

There Will Be Blood
Baran
All Or Nothing
The Forest For The Trees
The Edukators
Persepolis
Looking For Eric
Happy-Go-Lucky
Mary And Max
City of God

Anger Management (2003)

I've watched this movie three or four times and like it less and less with each rewatch.
