Game of Thrones Season 7

We've gone on holiday by mistake
I was spoiled for ep 6, I saw a Facepest comment that said "The script for ep 6 shows that a Dragon" then I quickly looked away but I sorta knew what that meant, even though I had predicted that the NK would down a Dragon.

Like Jon Snow I know nothing about next weeks episode and I hope it stays that way, no more **** ups this week HBO please, I'm not going anywhere near YouTube/Facebook comments.

Has there been an epic "Game of Thrones" moment yet this season? I don't think so, was the Dragon supposed to be it. Still a long finale to go for surprises. What I mean when I say "GOT moment" is a surprise that's been relatively unique to this show.

S1-Ned's death, they just killed the star and main character WTF!!??
S2-Can't remember
S3-Red Wedding
S4-Red Viper vs the Mountain
S5-Hardholme then Dance with Dragons
S6-Hold the Door.................still sad
S7-???

It looked better. Just croaking on the land wouldnt have been very interesting.

What was the quality of the leak like, G?
Fairly poor but watchable. I just cant wait for Sunday when it's there on Wednesday. Like asking a junkie to wait 4 days for their fix.

Just thinking, did the writers HAVE to let the Dragon sink AT ALL? It could die off to the side on land, then no need for any silly chains.

RE; Weapons, they are clearly using dragonglass weapons vs the dead, the Hound dispenses with the hammer and gets out 2 dragonglass daggers, Tormund has what looks like a dragonglass axe, they kill the Bear with a dragonglass dagger. Jon Snow using Valerian (does this kill Wights though), Berric his fire sword which kills them. It was quite unclear watching the leaked ep though.

Oh yeah. Good catch on the daggers. I do now remember questioning why some clearly dropped their swords for dagger work. I just dismissed it for close quarter combat as easier and faster to shank than swing a massive sword. Ugh.

One of my fb friends is a professor of media in US and gives weekly reviews of Got. A friend of his is a medieval history academic and also loves Got. He is outraged, OUTRAGED, by the time discrepancy. Lol. I;m having a great convo with him about it. He doesnt even know why he's so cranky. He's also pissed off with how the zombies suddenly are but we agree that it looked great. And dont get him started on the obviously turned on Danaery's holding her cousin's hand or the magically appearing chains.

So it seems lots of people had issues with elements of the season.

Interesting discussion on another forum about whether or not the existence of the WW or army of the dead has been a mistake. Simply the taking of the throne would've been a good enough ending. By the end of the show the argument may be proved right.

I agree 100.

I don't know if they've said the reason for fewer episodes is money, but I have to imagine the budget is the reason.

Whether it is being past the books or budget, this season really seems like a lack of planning or change of course.

Fewer episodes but they're longer, arent they? Still takes the same amount of time to shoot and pull them together.

I don't think so. Ep. 6 was the first long one this year and I think one was actually 50 minutes. Could be wrong.

I dont think it's a money issue. Same number of cast and crew needed, still have the international locations and CGI. It;s a huge budget show. Blowing out the budget would be impossible unless George just gets to eat 24/7.

I did not say that. My pug jumped on the keyboard.

I don't remember where or when, but I did read that the EP count total's were shortened to save budget for CGI and battle sequences later in the series.

Wasn't last night's EP like 1:18 long? Or 1:08? I remember pausing and seeing a number than tripped me up a bit.

I swear I already quoted this, but I guess not?!
What do you mean by the bolded text? How the Zombies suddenly are?

Oh sorry. Frozen brian. How the zombies are suddenly speedy gonzales rather than slow mo stumblers.

God that looked good. Have to duck out for appointment but back later to swoon about the blue eyes, and one thing I didnt catch, the dragon's blue eyes.

The battle of the bastards was the most expensive before this season, I think it was mainly due to the amount of people needed for the time it took to shoot

But the CGI is a big factor the more the dragons have to do

Yeah, I really don't remember the details. It may have simply been battle sequences (including both CGI and cast/extras).

Is this why people ion here think the dragon will start blowing ice?

I dont know how I missed that because blue is certainly one of my colours.

The Adventure Starts Here!
Wow, how did you miss that the eye was now blue? That's kind of a big deal.

I think there are theories on both sides right now about whether the undead dragon will breathe fire or ice. Either way is pretty bad for everyone else. I'm going to go with ice -- it'd certainly make for very interesting matchups.

I wonder if this dragon will be able to fly as fast as he did when he was alive. If so, he should already have iced over King's Landing by now.

I'm going with ice. Would make sense, considering everything else about them involves ice.
