It's easy for me to pay attention, I am just driving a truck.

Interesting. There have been very few nominations my wife has watched with me. She will however probably watch Treasure Planet and Wall E for the animation countdown.

My wife watches all the Hofs noms with me. We usually agree, but not always.

She likes new stuff, and no animation or foreign crap.

My wife has seen Her and Bringing Up Baby with me before.

I could have used more time on ranking them right by looking at all reviews and thereby making the placement. But I didn't feel like doing that.

Anyways, what is a shame though is that I should've listened to the hunch I had... i genuinely thought Dead Girl would be dead last, given Bashu wasn't actually that poorly received after all. What made me not do it was that because it was more obscure and maybe less accessible people would still put it last. Alas, I feel pretty confident about the rest of my predictions... BUT as it always turns out, I suck so badly at this and always gets it all wrong.

I was surprised that most didn't think that was going to be last. Obviously i had the results but from the posts that was the only one i was confident would finish lower than Bringing Up Baby.

Oh, and I had The Dead Girl at #9 on my list.

It succeeded in doing what it set out to do, I give it that. They went for uncomfortable and depressing and they hit their mark. Might be that they were too successful.

That's true for me, I didn't like the subject matter of Dead Girl, so that was a factor for me placing it last...sorry Topsy!

It was 10 for me. I didn't mind it though.

Bashu at 10 on the countdown... same place I had it.

Same.

Not me, I had Bashu at #6. I assume the only person to rank it higher was Guap. Bashu was not perfect, but I really appreciated seeing an Iranian film shot in a remote region of that country. It was a good nomination.
