Talking of Travolta and Battlefield and Broken Arrow.


I've just looked at Christian Slater.
Hmm... golden boy of the 1980s and 1990s.


Any idea which one it was that killed him?
I'm thinking Broken Arrow in 1996 as well... although he did have a couple movies after it that weren't bad... but then he made Hard Rain in 1998 and then again starred in a couple movies that weren't too bad.
One thing I've spotted though... is he made the god-awful Churchill: The Hollywood Years, and after that is when his Direct-To-DVD spell started.


Any ideas what it was went wrong?
Apart from maybe the drugs, booze, wife-beating and violence toward airline cabin crews of course.

So what was it that they re-evaluated and made them think "you know what? This is actually genius work". Was it the pool scene? I can see that. Almost like a prima ballerina she was. Never has a sex scene been portrayed with such grace. But no, I know what took that movie to that other level. People finally appreciate the way she always wore her lipstick just above her lip line. That's some next level work, right there. Okay, okay, consider me converted. The movie really was ahead of its time.

I'd have put Pearl Harbour and Rat Race as the killers of Jr if I was honest.
Pearl Harbour killed Josh Hartnett's career as well. He made Black Hawk Down the same year, and it was released after Pearl Harbour, and guess what... Harnett's name didn't sell the movie to the masses as Ridley thought it was going to.

haha yeah, i still think it's garbage as well. There was a review i read, i can't even remember the reasons i'll look for it later and post it if i find it. The critic whose name escapes me at the moment in general is pretty amazing, writes some of the best essays and reviews out there. He does have his reasons that he's clearly convinced of but yeah don't agree with him.

I'll say this about it, though. Whenever it's on TV I always end up watching it. Always. I never know why, I just know I can't control it.

I don't know, man. He made a pretty solid comeback with Suicide Squad. The movie might be panned but his performance is one of the highlights according to many. His career still seems to be heading forward, so I'd say he still has it.

Ok ok... Independence Day 2 could be a factor as well for Will Smith.
He was kicked off the cast sheet... from what I heard, he acted like a diva and demanded something stupid like $50m to come back to the franchise.
So they killed his character.


So, ID4-2 and After Earth are sort of a double killer.


For me anyways.

Jaden's career is basically a cameo with Daddy in MiB2, and an almost non-existent role alongside Daddy in The Pursuit Of Happyness... then he killed it by not appearing in something with Daddy.


Jaden's career was killed in his 3rd movie The Day The Earth Stood Still.


After The Day The Earth Stood Still, he had to star alongside Daddy, or be produced by Daddy and have the scripts rewritten by Daddy, with Daddy forcing studios to put him in the lead. And all of them have been total garbage.


Worst case of nepotism ever tbh.
