Had you followed the link on that site to the official Pendragon Pictures site… you would have found the following statement in regards to the delay in the movie:

Due to many similarities between the planned version of WAR OF THE WORLDS and the World Trade Center attack, Pendragon Pictures is pushing production of WAR OF THE WORLDS back, in which time the screenplay is being reworked. This new version will be an accurate adaptation of the Wells classic story placed in its original 1898 setting.~ Pendragon Pictures

So I guess those “over-thinking ******* Americans”, as you labeled them, are changing it.... to just exactly what you wanted in the first place…

Yea...so all these movie executives were sitting around thinking..
"Hey we got a couple of years to spare..why dont we re-write everything we've dun so far and bring it back to the way it shoulda bin in the first place!"

I don’t think so either… if you read their statement and then added all the other info up… Pendragon delayed filming (which was supposed to start a month after 9/11) because the script they had was too similar to what happened on 9/11...

OK...they changed it for the better.
So whens it gonna start bein made? or has it already begun?

And please, you can stop with the attitude. I do indeed like The War of the Worlds, and am excited to see the original story on the big screen.

I don't like the movie. Gene Barry is about as charasmatic as a lump of clay, it doesn't follow the book hardly at all, and the time period is way off. A remake, if done with respect, would be awesome.
