I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025)

I'm just going to repost exactly what I posted when someone mentioned this in another thread.

Glad that there's a trailer out, but I read that it spoils something that some people might not want spoiled... so I will try very hard not to watch it...

Might be ok, but I'm getting the impression it's a nostalgia cash grab to compete with Scream... the problem is that Last Summer doesn't, and never did, have the audience that Scream had.

It'd be like making another Urban Legend movie with legacy characters/actors.
Urban Legend was a hit on first weekend on release, and dropped off sharpish in week two, and the sequel had almost no audience, so much so that part 3 was a DVD release.

I reckon it'll do well the first couple days, for two reasons... my generation of 40+, who might be interested in the nostalgia, and the newer gen who are tired of Scream movies.
Week two the dropoff will be huge.

I think it has something to do with *someone* getting killed within the first 5 minutes of the movie.

But I quickly averted my eyes before reading any more, so I honestly don’t know….

As long as it's better than the abomination that was the 3rd movie and the tv show, I am all for this.

While I like the original first two, I never liked the franchise as much as Scream, for example. And the third is atrocious.

By looks of the trailer it seems like a modern bland cash grab… no interest in this as it stands.
