Will also post every Album that got a vote and the stats. Those are: Albums per decade, a decade countdown by where each album placed on the countdown, artists with more than one album on the countdown and i've also included total albums of theirs got votes in brackets, then a comparison with Iro's Countdown.

Same, it hasn't been anything shocking but not how i expected it to turn out either. Definitely didn't expect MBDTF to be in the top ten, Pink Flag to be in the top twenty and several to make it at all like 77 Live for example.

While I didn't vote for any of the last five, I'd still say that they're all very good albums. The one that came closest to making my own list was My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, which really is The Wall of rap music and seeing it crack the top 10 was a pleasant surprise.

Thriller is a lot of fun but i've always preferred Bad for some reason, also not as big on MJ as i was a few years ago. Also apparently an Eagles Greatest Hits Album surpassed it as the greatest selling, bahahahaha.

Love Abbey Road, didn't vote for it. Surprised that was the highest Beatles Album.

Dark Side of the Moon is probably my fave Floyd Album, have went way off The Wall though.

I love Nevermind and always will, it was so important to me growing up. I do wish we had a different winner though, oh well it's pretty conclusively proved itself to be this sites favourite. It just had more votes than anything else, The Wall had much higher placements but was on three less lists.

The ones i'm most surprised didn't make it are Exile On Main St., Read To Die and Odyessey and Oracle, figured they'd be shoe-ins on a 130 Countdown. Only a few of those that didn't make it had other votes off the top of my head those include: Ready To Die, Horses, Turn On The Bright Lights and Transformer.

This is everything that didn't make it, as you can see there's an absurd amount of Albums so there's going to be mistakes, have actually already noticed and deleted a few. Now to try and explain some, if an Album that made the Countdown is also in this list it's more than likely i forgot to delete one of the votes, those are the mistakes i've already caught and deleted. Also if an Album is on here twice with one from 1 list and one from 2 lists, i've forgotten to delete the 1 list one. If something you voted for isn't here then i've straight up forgotten to add it for whatever reason and am happy to do so if you bring it up. The point amount could certainly be off on some too, i added 1000 albums so it's very possible i added 36 points for 14th place instead of 37 or whatever, possibly added a 2 where a 3 should have been and not noticed it there's plenty of explanations. I'd ctrl + f something to make sure it's not somewhere else on the list before bringing it up to me. Even if it wasn't a mistake it could have got a second vote but not ended up with 50 points.

Other than those it's very possible something should have been on the countdown and wasn't, obviously it wasn't intentional if that was the case. This will be going into the third post above the one pointers too.

Eh, Nevermind being #1 is a bit disappointing, but the album seems to resonate with all demographics so it's not unexpected. I still appreciate it, however, including all albums that made the Top 10.

Well, this countdown is finally over. I have to say, it's much, much better than any shameful Top Albums list Rolling Stone or NME has put out. Special thanks to Camo for organizing the countdown, and various members (Cat, Chyp, MV etc.) for providing entertaining non-sequiturs and rants along the way. Man, there's a lot of stuff I need to listen that made the countdown...

I have long thought about this quite unsure whether this or Zhou Xuan's Legendary Chinese Hits should be my number one album of all time. Come to think of it, Zhou Xuan might have been the best vocalist that ever lived, and the quality of both her Golden Voice as well as the contents of this compilation make for a strong contender for the all-time title. However, no matter how good the compilation, it only contains songs of one artist, and as far as it works great as a showcase of Zhou Xuan's genius, it pales in comparison to the insanely wide spectrum of Pop Songs. Not to mention the latter has a full CD of Zhou Xuan's songs, so nothing is lost.

The greatest, most complete and comprehensive look into the musical scene of Shidaiqu of the 1930s and 40s means 20 (!) CDs full of ethereal beauty and utopia. It's hard not to think the songs were a direct juxtaposition of brutal lives people had to cope with. In order to forget about the cruelty of war, or political propaganda of the times one could delve into sentimental love stories and hope for better tomorrow.

Pop Songs is perfect as a soundtrack to Chinese silents, as background music as well as deep, focused listening. It's enormous enough to provide dozens of hours of musical discovery, and its power to turn sorrow into joy is still intact, more than 70 years later. Music isn't supposed to be that good.

Chyp suggested doing a top 50 including Albums that didn't make the Countdown, great idea and i started it but i personally think it felt a bit silly as i went on. Anyone is free to do that with the whole list i posted of course. 60's only being fourth was surprising, suppose it is a top heavy decade with most only being into like four bands but still it's the most canonized decade so i expected more. Most of my Albums were from the 90's so i'm cool with that winning.

Personally i'm pretty impressed with the differences, whatever top 50 you prefer you must admit they are pretty dang different. Not shockingly so but there was really big gains and falls, only 4/10 of the top ten were the same, one of those was no longer in the top 50 and one wasn't even in the top 100! Just wish we had a new winner but Nevermind has shown it's definitely this places favourite.

When I read about this countdown, it was when I had taken a break from the forum for a while, so I knew that I had only skimmed the thread, and I thought I read that Greatest Hits albums weren't allowed. That's why I was surprised when I saw one show up on someone's list. It's not a big deal. It was more of a curiosity than anything else. :)

I wasn't surprised at all when I had only one album on the countdown. I know from the song tournaments that most people here don't listen to the same music that I listen to, so I was lucky that I had that Billy Joel album on my list. I like a lot of his albums, so I could have easily picked a different Billy Joel album, and had nothing on the countdown. :lol:

I considered both of those albums too, but I listen to mostly country music and showtunes, so it was hard enough to find room for one of his albums, let alone 2 or 3 of them. But I couldn't leave him off of my list. He's basically a God here on Long Island. :)

It's kind of strange that more people don't listen to country music because it's very popular in many parts of the U.S. We see so many country singers winning on shows like "American Idol", "The Voice", and "X Factor", but I can't find many people who actually listen to country music around here.

JJ seems to listen to more of the "outlaw" country, while I listen to more of the "easy listening" country, so we probably didn't have much overlap on our lists. :shrug:
