-I'm literally on fire today ! This movie is a beauty from one of the best director of all time imo. Brad Pitt , Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey are amazing . This movie is probably one of the best Crime , Thriller ever . The Story-line with the Seven Deadly sins is totally brilliant if you want my opinion . The Ending is one of the best ending in the cinema history imo , Kevin Spacey aka John Doe is astounding . Definitely a one of a kind and If you didn't see it I highly recommend it. another great rewatch.

Get Carter (111 minutes) + 206 = 317 minutes for the day
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/c/c1/Get_Carter_poster.jpg/220px-Get_Carter_poster.jpg
Excellent dark, violent, sexually explicit crime movie. Jack Carter is an ******* and he's not shy about it.I like that there is not score it gives a very interesting mood to the film. I prefer this kind of offering than a movie like Rambo, Terminator, etc. because yeah people die, but we see them and we don't like the main character who actually murders them. It might be a contender for one of the last 2,3 spot of my 70's list I'll see.

Stagecoach is another great with fantastic character and story. It has some brilliant cinematography too. Westerns really are starting to grow on me now and this streak of fantastic films has really been magnificent.

It seems like you're more a fan of conventional American westerns instead of Spaghetti Westerns.
Definitely watch The Searchers if you feel that's the case. ;)
I still have to watch most of the classic American westerns myself. It's one of the many holes I still have to fill.

Rhys, it's great to see that you're starting to enjoy westerns. I second Cobpyth's recommendation of The Searchers. Also check out The Treasure of the Sierra Madre. It isn't a typical western (some might argue that it isn't a western at all), but it's an all-time great movie and I feel confident that you'd enjoy it.
It's one of the many holes I still have to fill.

I second The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, in my top 50 easily.

-A complete MASTERPIECE . This movie is so great imo ... the casting , the directing , the stoyline , the mood it's all perfect . I cry during at least 10min at the end with all the emotions possible . Micheal Clarke Duncan is so good in the role of the big guy John Coffey. I admire this piece of art by Frank Darabont like Shawshank Redemption. Definitely an instant-classic of his generation.

(98 Minutes)

I don't know what to think of this film. I think it had a really nice set up but from the middle section on what could have been a deep investigation into horror mythos soon became your run-of-the-mill gore-fest horror flick. I think to some degree it works "in snippets" past the middle section, (in the degree of investigation), but I get the feeling such "snippets" were unintentional and the ending just seems to solidify my feelings on the matter. So good "half-movie" I guess? I'm not sure. Either way this movie to me is quite literally 50/50.
Westerns are like half a blind spot for me. There are a few that I really love and I get excited when a new one gets made but that doesn't happen nearly enough. My dad watches Westerns constantly so I feel like I have seen way more than I actually have. My problem is a lot of the old ones do nothing for me so I haven't watched a lot that I should. I have seen probably only two John Wayne films. Anyway a Western I can not recommend enough is Lonesome Dove. It is a mini-series so it's a bit more time consuming than a normal film but so worth it. Larry McMurtry novel starring Duvall and Jones, you can't go wrong.
My Five:
Lonesome Dove
True Grit (Coen Bros.)
Young Guns
Wyatt Earp
The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly
If you count Dances With Wolves that is on the list. A lot of people consider that a western.

Spielberg's directorial debu is one of his best movies. Clearly a low budget, but fantastically well made thriller, I never thought I would be scared of a car. Great film, Spielberg before having all the budget might be better then when he has it.

Mutiny on the Bounty (1962)
June 25 2014
(178 Minutes)
http://anotherfilmblog.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/mutiny3.jpg
Having recently seen the 1935 Munity on the Bounty there's no comparison. This one is a snooze-fest compared to that one, and I think the reason I feel this way was because I never really felt terrified of Captain Bligh in this film. Sure Bligh in this film was cold... but he wasn't horrifying, calculating, insanely mad/cold as he was in the other film. This film seemed to want to showcase Fletcher Christian more, Marlon Brando. While I think Brando is a fine actor, I don't think there's much to flesh out in Christian other than he's a reactionary character to Bligh... and since the whole Bligh character was more or less a wash in this film, so was Brando and just about everything else. Not even technicolor could save this movie.

I have a hard time imagining it's Scent of a Woman/Patch Adams remake could top this original masterpiece. The film gives movement as well as a sense of claustrophobia to guilt and, as the film puts it, insomnia. I don't think a movie has ever made me identify with a feeling of guilt as much as this film did... and to some degree it's almost a fault, because as such it can be a bit difficult to watch. I admit pausing frequently to relinquish my cringes of the circumstances the main character was willing to go through to free himself from his own mistakes. Wonderful film, and I'll have to check out the Nolan version.

I think I vomited a little during parts of this movie. It seems to make fun of people who are mentally handicapped as well as a disturbing scene whereby a man in black face tries to "hide" himself amongst real black people, when ask to "get out of the picture" he responds, "Oh don't mind me 'massa' I'm just the stars uncle, Uncle Tom". I was so shocked by this moment it literally made my heart sink. What may have been funny back in those days isn't funny now, it's deplorable. I think Kenneth Anger stated it best, you watch Busby Berkeley movies for what he does with camera and music, but everything else is a wash. Well I wish I could say that it has such "redeeming" value, but it doesn't... even the musical numbers aren't up to usual snuff. So all I can say is, I'm happy I own the Busby Berkeley Bonus Disc so I can watch all the musical numbers without having to sit through this wreck again.

I'll be honest, I cannot accurately judge this film. Why do I say this? Well when I watched it in the early morning hours last night, I was watching it as a collective-montage experience... and when I do so... I thought the film was superb. When I broke the collective-montage experience to get some shut-eye... and returned to it the next day. It felt like I cut myself off from this experience, and the film became at once more confused. Then I found myself picking up again from say, (a final section in the films "parts"), and I found myself falling in love again. So for now I'll say I enjoyed it... but it needs a repeat viewing to establish a more honest review.

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2E7MsOSIKKM/TnNwrT3Pl6I/AAAAAAAAB3c/2U_7NtCqjtA/s1600/Pepe+le+Moko+3.jpg
Review is coming a bit late, I only had time to watch the film yesterday morning and then after that it was running until I collapsed yesterday. Anyway, Pepe le Moko is a prime example of a movement called "French Poetic Realism" which focused on moody lighting, realist/proletarian drama, and stylized social conditions, (such as the end of this film which seems more about Pepe's mental states rather than the march out itself). We all seem to be standing on the shoulders of giants, and in some way this "moody lighting" can be seen as an influence taken from a previous movement, Expressionism. Or "stylized social conditions" in Kammerspiel films, particularly the drunk sequence in The Last Laugh... but this movement puts such ideas in its own terms as it's successors, Italian Neo-Realism, Film Noir, The French New Wave, etc. did as well. Overall, outside of this historical light, I think the film itself holds up rather well. Jean Gabin is always spectacular to watch as an actor. The film feels almost a bit like Casablanca, just a bit more gritty and to some degree it's nice to see that there isn't a "Beautiful Friendship" between officer and criminal, everyone's using everyone else for personal gain... and it seems such greed and deception leads to people dying in the muck. Fabulous film, would watch again.

While I enjoyed this film, and I thought it was good. I didn't enjoy it as much as I liked other Cronenberg films. I tend to like it when Cronenberg goes all out and holds no punches back to the kind of mystery/horror he creates. Here we have a mystery/thiller... but it seems it could have been made by just about any other director. I see no signature here, (which is a tad disappointing). Ah well, as a stand alone film though, I can't say it was much of a thriller... but just as a decent story with your popcorn Hollywood film ending, not so bad. I've seen better, and I've seen worse. Onto the next flick...

I wanted to rewatch it before sending my list for the HOF and I obviously still loved it. Antoine isn't really a ''bad kid'' society made him a bad kid by always punishing him. In fact he's really intelligent, Truffaut critics how adults can be careless and don't care about children. And the worst is that children's lives depend at 100% of adults. Jean-Pierre Léaud gives the best child performance ever and the final shot of the film always gets me. 5

I'm not quite sure what to think of this picture. On one hand I enjoyed the techniques involving distortions in temporal-spatial aspects, on the other hand, as far as a surrealist film goes... I think Resnais is messing in Bunuel territory and should keep out. The story seems to be about an infidelity which may or may not have happened. Whether it did or didn't happen I seem to find irrelevant really, because for the most part you have people sitting, talking in circles, walking around a chateau, watching stage plays, or playing games, and on some strange level this works to a degree in the sense that when edited and conceived through the mise-en-scene correctly it has a pace that works... other times when Resnais bypasses technique, (which is about the only thing holding this picture together), it's an abysmal bore. So I find myself split on opinion of this film. However, having been exposed to surrealist films that "go all the way"... this film seems a lot like it was made by a musician who knows how to play a certain instrument, but when tackling another instrument that is foreign to him, he can't quite get a handle on it. The music is there, it's just the artist himself is out of his league.

Powaqqatsi
June 29 2014
(97 Minutes)
http://www.pomegranatearts.com/project-philip_glass/images-gallery/pof-pow1.jpg
The ending suggests, "Powaqqatsi" is an entity which sustains life by living off the lives of others. The political implications, whether agreed upon or not, seem to be more pronounced in the films credits which it reveals said intentions of what said film "should" be, but I'm at odds whether or not it's montage implied it. I think it's former, and latter, counterparts succeeded in their montage, illustrating their said points of construction, (and the Qatsi Trilogy is all about montage)... But this film, the montage seemed "loose" to put it lightly. It goes from daily tribal life, (such as agriculture, religion, play, etc.) to modern industry, then it tries its darnedest to try and compare an contrast to two in disharmony, (see picture above as the best example really)... However, it seems each one of these sections is given a bit too much "slack" in montage form, so it almost becomes less a montage film and more of a aesthete film that you might discover "the wonders of the Earth, next time you tune into this program on PBS". That's not saying it's a "bad" film, it's just not my particular favorite of the trilogy thus far. I'm always willing to give it another go though. On a side note, I'm beginning to think I'm watching too many films with the composer Phillip Glass, (this includes all of this recently watched trilogy and Candyman). I hear his bellowing horns before I go to bed. So I'll be staying away from The Truman Show, A Brief History of Time, The Fog of War, and just about any other Errol Morris collaboration until I can chase my Phillip Glass Demons away.

The Storyline is very interresting and I like the development and the action scenes are awesome . The ending is good but nothing more ! One of the best movie of Mark Wahlberg career no doubt . It's visually beautiful, there are some highly intelligent philosophical quotes such as this one that I particularly enjoyed: ''When man is happy the meaning of life and other eternal themes rarely interest him. These questions should be asked at the end of one’s life. But we don’t know when life will end, that’s why we’re in such a hurry. Don’t rush. He happiest people are those who are not interested in these cursed questions. To ask is always the desire to know. Yet the preservation of simple human truths requires mystery. The mysteries of happiness, death and love. Maybe you’re right, but try not to think about all that now. To think about it is to know the day of one’s death. Not knowing that makes us practically immortal.'' But I honestly think I didn't understand the film, I can't even say what the movie is about. I heard it was more ''acessible'' than Stalker, but I'd say it's the opposite. Stalker I could still kind of understand what it was about, but not that one. Maybe that I'll read the classic book by Lem or the Soderberg movie and try to rewatch it after, but that'll be in a long time haha.

As a huge fan of rap and Eminem in general I liked 8 Mile a lot despite it's clear flaws. It's not a perfectly made film but I enjoyed this a lot and sometimes I can like a film like this more than some of the more "well constructed ones". Another example of this would be iLL Manors.

I liked the imagery, but I didn't find the movie immersive enough. I know the arguments of some people that are saying that we, as movie goers should be more attentive, but I disagree. I don't have anything against a slow or a movie that let us interpret many things, but the least I'm asking is a minimum of storytelling. I'm a fan of beautiful landscapes and natural stories, but for a reason I don't know I was always distracted and couldn't get into the movie. And I can safely say that I don't think it's my fault, I think I'm an excellent spectator. I still think that I'll rewatch it eventually because the images and the face of Klaus Kinski kind of stayed with me.

(Same film just had to watch it over the course of two days, finished it on the 1st so however you want to count it)
(90 Minutes)
This movie was billed as a comedy but it came across as one big headache. The film tries desperately to get you to sympathize with the main character, but from outset he's a dope who's late for work, (apparently not the first time), drives recklessly so much so he literally almost gets into a car pile-up caused by him. The "bully", (who I actually feel sorry for in this film), seems to just want to be left alone and our main character through a series of events belittles him, stereotypes him, (along with his friend), sets a knife in his locker all because he doesn't want to fight him at three o' clock. What else does he do? He steals from the student store to pay people to fight the "bully" for him. He even pays off the bully after taking money off of his "paid partner in crime". Now by the time it's gotten to three o' clock high, I could care so less for what happens to our main character, I want to see him expelled and arrested, instead the film puts on this tacky little 80's ending where everything is okay. I damn near pitched a fit. Not my cup of tea.

One of the better Berkeley's despite some gripes, I know it's the sign of the times, but it's still unsettling to see that the only people capable to go to college where upper-crust white people and the blacks couldn't be anything more than a janitor. I guess on a positive note they were the opening act in the films final "Varsity Show" but they still type cast them even in that program. But whatever. Despite my gripes, it was one of the better Berkeley's. To be honest, I don't care much for any of his movies, but the ending is always the "seal of approval", (usually). The movies go from being normal Hollywood fair to a Hollywood kaleidescope-dream-world with in a span of a few minutes towards each ending. If you can bypass "the days racism" and focus on just the endings it's worth it. Personally, (as I've said this before), I'm glad I have the bonus disc to the sets because it's all the musical numbers in one and I don't have to sit down and watch the snails-pace screenplay leading up to said numbers.

Actually that's my point. We don't mind eating pigs, chicken and beef because they're ugly and not cute, but cat, dogs and dolphins we're offended when someone eat it. The killing of Dolphins is tragic, i have swam with them i know how cute and playful they are. But i fail to see why their plight is any different from an ugly Pig or Goat. I'm not going to even pretend this doc made me want to not eat meat, but this doc is meant to make you feel sorry for Dolphins whether you agree with this or not. Dolphins are my third favourite animal after Tigers and Honey Badgers. One of the biggest problems with The Cove (and pretty much all the pro-animal rights docs I've seen) is that it focused entirely too much on the emotional side of things and didn't get down to the facts of why it's important to protect them and stop the slaughter.
I agree with you that the life of a whale or dolphin isn't any more or any less valuable than the life of a pig or any other animal from a moral standpoint. However, I believe that whaling should continue to be illegal. Unlike pigeons, pigs, rabbits, and many other game and domestic food animals (as well as domestic cats and dogs that are eaten elsewhere in the world), sustainability is a big issue. Whales and dolphins reproduce quite slowly. Bottlenose dolphins, for example, can take as long as 14 years to reach sexual maturity. A bottlenose dolphin pregnancy lasts approx 12 months, after which time a single calf is born. Then the mother will suckle that calf for up to 18 months before it is weaned. So this means that the death or capture of a single animal has a relatively large impact on the overall population than the death or capture of an animal of a more prolific species. (Reproductive stats found at SeaWorld.org)
Compare this to pigs - which are actually quite intelligent and suffer horribly both physically and psychologically in the meat industry. Females are sexually mature at about 9 months of age, are pregnant for approx. 114 days, and - depending on a number of factors including age at time of pregnancy and the breed of the pig - have anywhere from 3-12 offspring per litter. Other domestic food animals and game animals have similar reproductive rates and, in the U.S. at least, we've damn near wiped out many of the top predators through hunting and habitat loss, there's not much else around to keep populations in check.
There's also the issue of the safety of the meat. The Cove touched on this a little bit, but because they are among the top predators in ocean, the bodies of whales and dolphins tend to build up a significantly larger percentage of toxins and pollutants which can then affect the health of anybody who eats their meat.
So the issue is really more than just about saving cute animals simply because they're cute.
Ahem. I'll get off my soapbox now.

Thank you I appreciated that comment very much because that I really ask myself these questions recently and that I didn't know that.
Maybe I'm going to far, but what is the differance between killing a human or killing a pig? To me they might not be as intelligent, but they suffer so it's murder. What's the difference between Adolf Hitler wanting to kill everything that isn't aryan than us killing everything (or almost) that isn't human.

Notting Hill is a decent romantic comedy with a fair few good laughs and an overall, simple and easy to follow storyline which is good if you don't want to delve into something too deep. This was worth the watch but wasn't anything fantastic.

Great movie. Well written, original and well thought concept with lovable characters the only problem I had was the animation, but it's not that bad and doesn't affect my appreciation of the movie that much.

The Passenger (125 minutes)
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/4/49/The_passenger_1975_poster.jpg/220px-The_passenger_1975_poster.jpg
It's an Antonioni film so it's minimalistic with great visuals and a main characters who is bored to death. The theme of escapism and a man who as everything that most of us want, but that isn't what he wants. He's almost an empty shell, really interesting. Great shot when Nicholson asked Maria Schneider to turn around and that's what he wants to feel.

That was a rewatch and I'm really happy to have rewatch it because it was better than I remember. It reminds me a little bit of Serpico in the aspect of corruption and how the people in power are not the kind and honest people we think they are. Redford and Hoffman are 2 of my favorite actors so it helps. I was invested in their quest for truth. I even ask myself the question if what they wanted the most was to unvail a lie and teel the truth to the population or just releasing a great story that will catapult both their careers,

The visual are also a very nice factor and the fighting scene are very good too. The Ending is perfect and Mark Wahlberg is once again astounding. One of the greatest war movie i've ever seen and it's actually a true event. Double thumbs up for this awesome movie . Bravo !

Maybe I'm going to far, but what is the differance between killing a human or killing a pig? To me they might not be as intelligent, but they suffer so it's murder. What's the difference between Adolf Hitler wanting to kill everything that isn't aryan than us killing everything (or almost) that isn't human.
Hitler was a genocidal maniac who saw other races as less then human and deserving to die.
We kill the pigs and other creatures because for a food source. The motivations are WAY far apart.

Hitler really believed that the aryan race was superior and that the existence of jews (and if he would of won he would eradicate pretty much every other race) I could also argue that the scientific experiments he made on alive humans were groundbreaking and made our civilisation advance (I'm not a nazi, I think Hitler was crazy and all, but it's comparable of what we do with animals)
We use them as a food source, but we don't have to. We could easily survive without eating meat, we actually feed them more then what their meat feeds us. In addition to that without talking about morality the meat industry destroys the environment . And if I can talk about morality I'd say that non only do we use other speecies based on differance to feed us (pretty much the concept of racism isn't it?) but most of them (I can't generalize, but what we generally eat and is not substantially more expensive than the average price) are living horrible live in confined space and are over nourished (I don't know if that's a word lol) until they die.
So I'm trying to be a vegetarian, but it's not easy since I still live with my parents, that it's socially akward and that I LOVE meat, but I'll manage to do it.

What Hitler did does not even compare to what we do to animals. We eat animal because man is an omnivore. Check your teeth if ya don't believe me. That is the food chain. Hitler rose to power, duped others into following him, and then set into motion a way to systematically murder millions in death camps. And to what end? Because he was a sociopath bent of the elimination of those he thought were of inferior races. We eat chicken because it is finger licking good, not because we hate the species.
You make a choice not to eat meat, fine. You have a moral issue, that is your call. But to equate meat eating to the Holocaust is ridiculous.

Eating chicken because it's finger licking good is not acceptable to me. And maybe it wasn't Hitler's goal, but the scientific experiences he made on alive humans at the time are still relevant and serve science today. I can see why people in the last century ate meat, it's because they didn't have the choice for both eating and for their clothes, but now we have the choice so it's not acceptable. I don't believe in determinism, we are omnivore maybe, but why for instance in India half of the country is vegetarian? Because of a choice and a culture. Eating meat is not natural it's cultural. Also we have something called reason so that we don't always follow our impulses if we judge that they're not acceptable or rational. So we have the ability and we should do something about it, at least increase their life conditions. But in our society eating meat is not even really a question that we ask ourselves, it's normal and nobody should question it and if you want to question the confort of others by making them feel guilty they try to avoid the subject and to marginalize you. So I really appreciate you answering me with arguments and respect!
I would had that the main argument is (following epicurus philosophy of pleasure) that the pleasure I have eating the meat is a lot smaller than the displeasure of the animal I'm eating.
The Gunslinger45

You made your choice great. I respect that. The issue was never that. Man is an omnivore by nature but he has free will too. He can do what ever he/she chooses and you have chosen one without meat.
The issue for me was trying to compare eating meat to the Holocaust. And with all due respect, you can dress it up however you please; but the simple fact is that eating meat will never be as horrible as what Hitler did. I doubt anyone will be able to change either of our minds on the issue.

Creep me out a lot , certain parts of the film were very terrifying and If you are a horror movie fan , This movie is definitely for you. The Ending is a little bit cliché but it's the only negative part I give to the movie. I recommend it .

Not exactly sure what you're getting at here. I was saying that you shouldn't make an argument without understanding the social and cultural (maybe species as well) biases that are inherently implicated in it, and you respond with pictures of meat. I already said that I'm not a vegetarian, so it's not like you're trying to offend me with that, unless you didn't see my post before. Just an update. Sorry I haven't been following through as much as of late, I've been having some real nasty issues on the home front I've had to deal with. So I'm trying to watch when I can and update, but for the next couple of weeks, since things have been crazy hectic, I might be in an out of the tournament or whatever you like to call this. Still count me in, (it's really something I look forward to), and when things settle down on my end this will be very refreshing to come back to. Loving what I'm seeing so far!

Just watched Bruno (13/07/2014 - 81 mins) - will start full reviews again on Monday and may update some or all the lists then too. It was a very funny film but some parts were a little too offensive in my opinion. Still, I want to watch Borat again now.

I think the problem with Bruno is not that it's offensive, but that it tries to shock and offend but it doesn't have the level of humour that goes with them like in Borat, I just did not find the film anywhere near as funny. Also I watched American Graffiti recently too, but liked it more than you, especially loved the stylish look (the cars) and awesome soundtrack :)

Thought Borat was funny as Hell when I saw it the first time. Thought Bruno was alright when I first saw it. I never rewatch Borat, though. I've seen Bruno a million times. I just watched it again recently in fact just to see if I still like it since it had been awhile. To me, it's not so much the jokes that make it good, it's the way he plays that character and the way the story plays out. But there are some hilarious parts. I love when he's pushing the shopping cart because he's homeless, but he's got racks and racks of clothes behind him.

Run Lola Run is a fantastic film with beyond amazing and stylish, colourful visuals that keep up the same fast pace throughout. I liked the characters and the fact that we as a spectator are positioned with multiple everyday characters throughout the film by being shown snapshots of their future lives and with them becoming parts of multiple mini-narratives (hard for me to explain). I also like the plot and the message I took out of he film (the idea that how our actions can change the future in both small or big ways even if the action itself wasn't anything you'd normally think twice about). This is a very good film which I will watch again in the future.

A total masterpiece, one of the few movies that I'd give 4.5 if not more. The editing and the way the story is told are unique for the time and ads a lot to the film. The story is really well written and it contains a nice critic of the hypocrisy of the shogunat in feodal Japan. Nakadai gives an out of this world performance. There are not many action scenes, but those that are there ar really well made, but it's really a touching story about samurai and the different vision and hypocrisy behind it.

It was good, Cotillard is as always terrific and I was onvested in the story. The aproach is really realistic and it worked with that one. Great artsy documentary about gleaners, I learned a lot I didn't know anything about them. There are also some very interesting human beings in this documentary, I really suggest it.

-By FAR my favorite Tarantino movie. A unique classic of the cinema surround by an incredible casting and a solid directing. The Storyline is Funny , fluid and intense. The mood during all the 154min of the movie is awesome and all the back-story and the details are amazing imo. Definitely in my top 20 of all time .

Stranger Than Paradise is a beautiful, odd film with extremely powerful characters. This film has some sort of magical "snare" that draws you into the story and allows you to enjoy every quirky moment. One of the best films I have seen in a while.

make sure you watch down by law next. i think it's even better.
Ooooh that looks good. Thanks!
I might watch that later today if I get the chance. Although I just watched Videodrome (because the length was short enough to fit into today's "diary"). Very good film.

David Cronenberg

Videodrome is a very good film that is very powerful and definetaly succeeded in shocking me. Despite the silliness of some of the plot points I still thought that this film was pretty fantastic and VERY creative. The ending itself was brilliant.

If you want to see Jarmusch his best film in my opinion, watch Mystery Train! ;)
Cronenberg is the man Rhys. I love his movies. I just bought one of his earlier movies, Rabid, based on honeykid's recommendation.

Great movie, with some absolutely astonishing food porn. It's the kind of film with a very high rewatch value because it's more based on the ambiance than on the plot

Drug War is exactly the type of movie I love. Dark, violent crime movies where morality isn't worth sh*t. Loved it.

4.5 I don't rate movie anymore, but when I know I've just seen a new favorite I do it. It's a fantastic story, great concept visually mesmerizing (particularly the ending scene) and it's non only thrilling and entertaining, but it also makes you think. I've seen Vanilla Sky before and liked it a lot, but I really believe the original is the way to go. Also Penelope Cruz **** :D

Not as good as I thought it would be (because I love spaghetti westerns), but still very enjoyable.I think I prefer Terence Hill to Franco Nero as a badass main character. Nonetheless the soundtrack is great, there are some badass characters and some great gun fights so overall I think it's very good.

-Underrated ... this movie is surround by many strong performance of Christian Bale , Woody Harrelson and Casey Affleck , the storyline is slow but not so bad at all and The ending is good but nothing more. The Mood and The Soundtrack are also good factor in the film .

Mary and Max definetaly wasn't what I expected it to be like. However I still liked it as much as I was hoping. Although I didn't like some of the jokes this was still a very enjoyable film.

-Decent sequel nothing more. B+ acting , B+ storyline and the directing is correct nothing more. The best thing in this movie is definitely Englund , he is completely unbelivable in the role of Freddy Krueger. This movie is very slow and a little bit boring per moment ... but the ending is very nice imo. Not bad but really not good like the first one.

Tropic Thunder is a film with an interesting concept and strong start. But it loses it after the first 20-30 minutes. It gets overly stupid and very mediocre. Worth a watch though. The last 10 minutes were kinda cool.
