while this was in the X-Men universe, they spent more time making it a Deadpool movie, and not an X-Men movie.

A bunch of comments about general geekery really do hammer home that Deadpool really is a superhero fan's sort of superhero and here they've perhaps broadened him a bit to catch the more casual comic book movie fans that will recognize jokes about distinguishing "origin stories" and "ensemble casts"...

The characters are also very well developed (with the exception of the villain, who is kind of meh) and there is a very strong emotional thread tying the story together that helps make the movie meaningful which makes the jokes land even better.

My movie highlight has got to be the movies humour.

Miller does okay as Weasel, a deadpan bartender who frequently swaps insults with Deadpool, as do the two lower-tier X-Men - CGI metal-man Colossus (voiced by Stefan Kapicic) and sullen agent of destruction Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) - who are tasked with keeping tabs on Deadpool...

For the love between Wade ( Deadpool's real name in the movie ) and his girlfriend is real .

The film version knows he's in a film, he knows about the previous version of Deadpool and even the previous comic book character Reynolds played, The Green Lantern.

If you like the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies or are a fan of the X-Men movie franchise then odds are you will like this movie.

Deadpool is a comedy, action, superhero, revenge and romance rolled into one like no other superhero movie we have ever seen, never mind just Marvel film.
