We are shown two sets of parents, the first pair (Jay & Gail) belonging to the son who got shot and the other (Linda & Richard) to the son who killed him.

Even after the couples arrive, we are almost thirty-five minutes into the running time before the pieces of what is going on start to come together...very slowly.
