A quick note on the new DVD format:

Remember folks, you will need both a new player AND a new HD-TV to enjoy the new higher quality DVDs. Slapping a Blu-ray player on your old 1976 Zenith isn't going to magically transform your entertainment system into an HD-DVD powerhouse. These players are clearly bleeding edge at the moment, rather than leading edge. I won't be changing over for a numver of years to come.... Just think of all the deals to come of the older DVD format.

I was watching movies on my trinitron thisweekend, and the quality is top notch. I see no need to jump on the blu-ray wagon any time soon...

Some DVDs (Batman Begins , Phantom of the Opera for ex.) are supposedly planned only for a Blu-Ray release. And playing those, or anything other movie, on a Sony 32" television set with a THX/Dolby Surround Sound System is good enough for me right now.

Eventually I do plan on getting the player, which I am glad it plays both Blu-Ray and the DVDs we have now. I am also looking into getting a nice widesceen television set.

Lets put a smile on that block
