I desperately need a good movie

What was the last movie that totally blew your mind like you fell in love with cinema all over again. I really don't know what to watch tonight and I need something really really good

I never fell out of love, and I always see great movie, but the last great, great movie I saw was "Il Sorpasso"

Well I've just watched Heat (1995) all the way through for the first time and that was up there.

Some of us list movies on TV... If I saw it, I grade it..

Did you ever see "Thief" with James Caan? I saw "Heat" first, but this movie seems to be a better paced, and better overall... Both directed by Michael Mann, this was his first (and best) movie.

Moonlight and La La Land

I haven't seen Thief but I like Mann and I'm starting to get interested in his other films. I know Manhunter the best and I was never that bothered about The Last of the Mohicans despite appreciating the bits of it I have seen. It would be good to see L.A. Takedown as well, just to compare it with Heat.

I need to check out Thief.

I haven't seen Heat in years, it seems, but I'm itching for a rewatch.

I'm not enamored with Mohicans like I've been with Heat and Manhunter. Its fun to watch Day-Lewis in a much more laid back performance though. Not sure if it feels that way to others. He doesn't seem to be going full on ACTOR in it.

Out of the 2016 releases it's gotta be Silence that brought me back to that full bore cinematic experience.

Moonlight is real good though.

La La Land I need to rewatch before settling on. It didn't stick like Whiplash did.

I have the movie "Thief" from Criterion (1080 resolution) and ripped it onto my computer.. If anyone wants it, just give me an e-mail address.. (Make one up if you want).... It only takes about 5-10 minutes to send, and I'd be more than happy to send ANY of the many movies I have...

I'm with the FBI sir and ripping movies is against the law. Or didn't you know that?
