Is the upcoming movie paranorman the sequel of coraline?

Paranorman is neither a Coraline sequel nor is it "upcoming."

It also wasn't particularly good.

Paranorman was good but not up there with Coraline. But as said already, two different films and not upcoming most places on Earth...

I loved Paranorman, it was my favorite animated film from last year, it had a terrific sense of humor. It's not similar to Coraline though really, with the exception of the animation (Laika, the same animation studio was attached to it.) the Boxtrolls comes out next year, which is being animated by Laika as well, although that ones supposed to be more Comedy focused like Paranorman. That's the only upcoming project they have as of now.
