Starting this Monday; 3 part mini-series:

Yes, Yoda, Kevin Costner is in it, but it still looks great to me!

I love the music in the trailer.

It starts Monday night, runs into Tuesday and Wednesday, with a repeat of parts 2 and 3 next Saturday.

would love to discuss with others that watch it. I'm sorta fascinated with finally watching a story about this and it not being Scooby Doo.

EDITED TO ADD: For those not in the US, this is the most famous feud in American history.

I'm still promoting this series, lol, even if nobody responds!

Reviews are in and I just read three and all three are positive. Costner himself is getting great reviews.

One reviewer said:

Directed by Kevin Reynolds and written by Ted Mann and Ronald Parker, "Hatfields & McCoys" is a star-studded, gorgeously produced and astonishingly nuanced look at America's most famous family feud, which began after the Civil War in the Appalachian Mountains along the Kentucky-West Virginia border.

And I just have to post this (I wonder if Yoda will read this, lol)

But no matter how wide the conflict becomes, it is always the two men who are at the story's center. As Devil Anse, Costner comes as close to a hero as this piece gets. It is a truly brilliant performance, worthy of an Emmy for the pipe-smoking alone.
I hope it gets big ratings -- I love the idea that the History Channel might do more scripted pieces about events in history. Not a lot, mind you, but a few mini-series like this once in a while seems like a great idea, especially if done well.

With Kevin Costner, Bill Paxton, Tom Berenger, and Powers Booth this series looks like its gonna be a far cry better than any adaptation before it. Ive been very excited to see it, and feel it will probably be grittier than people are expecting. Just the commercials remind me of Deadwood which I thought was one of the best adaptations of the west ever made, but unlike Deadwood Im sure the foul language will be kept to a minimum.

Sorry Harmonica.......I got to stay here.
I thought it was fantastic. And much needed in the sea of current TV trash. Kudos to Kevin Costner for having the balls and wherewithal to make this. Great acting, story, production all around.

13.9 million viewers the first night; 13.1 the second. That is the highest rated cable show (with commercials) other than sports. To get a little perspective, the final show of House brought in 8 million and I think America's Got Talent brought in 10 million.

I've been reading different comments/twitters and this was universally praised. Yahoo users gave it 5 stars, lol. They are usually a TOUGH crowd!

I see Emmy nominations.

No doubt, it was compelling TV and people loved it. I'm so happy for Kevin.

Miss Vicky -- the whole thing is being rebroadcast on History channel on Saturday.
