Must be doin sumthin right
You're taking whatsisname's article which supposedly disproves the reasonaable doubt too seriously.
Eh well I was the one who posted whatsisname's article here years ago but I do have a few opinions I've formulated on my own. This is one I had the first time I watched this movie and one I've had every time I've seen it since

Two general, longtime pet peeves of mine are A) When these righteous man vs the system kinda movies over-stack the deck against the hero in the name of drama and B) When message movies over-simplify issues by unfairly/inaccurately representing the opposing side. I realize that dramatic deck stacking is a common device in a lot of great films (like Lumet's Serpico) but 12 Angry Men's script is contrived to the level that it undermines and muddles its point by making the evidence against the killer too convincing. And then yes it's just annoying to me how it ends with so little doubt that they did the right thing

Not necessarily about similar themes, but a much richer and more intelligent courtroom drama on this list is Anatomy of a Murder

My one-pointer was the German anti-war film Die Brücke (The Bridge).

90/100. Not bad. Got some films to watch.

"Don't be so gloomy. After all it's not that awful. Like the fella says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

My #25 film was Demetrius and the Gladiators, the sequel to my #2 film, The Robe.

I first saw it when I was a teenager. It was the movie that got me started on swords-and-sandals flicks and also on my weird fascination with Victor Mature.

I mentioned Rabbit of Seville was my #25 and possibly a one pointer. Here's my write up for it from the Looney Tunes HOF; although i mostly talk about What's Opera Doc? haha.

Rabbit of Seville

This is one of my absolute favourite Looney Tunes cartoons, favourite doesn't always mean best for me but i truly think this is one of the best. Saying that, i completely agree with gbg i prefer What's Opera Doc? and i also think it is better. The only reason i didn't nominate What's Opera Doc? was because i expected someone else too, same with Duck Dodgers.
I went with the next best thing, another fantastic Looney Tunes venture into classical music.

Anyway i don't want to compare this to What's Opera Doc? throughout because it will sound like i'm being negative even though this is one of my favourites, but the main things that are missing is the emotional touch to WOD and IMO WOD has the best voice acting (singing) in any Looney Tunes cartoon particularly from Elmer Fudd.

Elmers face when he first realizes he's on stage is one of my favourites in Looney Tunes. While a bit lesser than the voice acting in the short i keep mentioning, it is still incredibly fantastic here. It doesn't have Elmer's continually changing character as much but it also has Bugs fast singing at the start that is one of the few things it eclipses WOD on. I love when Bugs is wearing the green dress thing, and he is snipping his scissors, i watched this short in slow motion once and that part was actually the part that made me fall in love with Looney Tunes Animation. Not that it is a particularly amazing scene but i think it is the best done in this short. The classic scene here is of course Bugs barber scene with the fruit and Elmer's ensuing chase having reverted to anti-bugs after lifting his spell haha. The best thing about this short may be Bugs face for me. In my Duck Amuck write up i praised them not forgetting about Daffy's facial expression and movement so this may seem pretty inconsistent (coz it is) but i adore how often Bugs has that bug eyed so pleased with himself look throughout the cartoon. Gives an air of smugness that no character captures better than Bugs IMO.

With Nope mentioning repetitive jokes i'd just like to give a shout out to the guy off screen comes in with a bigger weapon joke.

Sorry for mentioning What's Opera Doc? so often btw i just find it difficult not to compare them and i was also expecting it to be nominated.
