Who will win the US 2016 Presidency?

I'm curious... could you maybe elaborate on the diversity comment? (I mean beyond obvious stuff like Rubio's being hispanic.) It could just be that as a long time Democratic voter (at least in Presidential elections) I'm blind to some of the differences that are obvious to Republican voters, but I haven't noticed much diversity on the Republican side. On foreign policy, for example, I get the sense that almost all of the candidates will be fighting very hard over maybe a few degrees of difference -- in "daylight" between them and Israel, or toughness on Iran.
Well obviously the scale of diversity does range within scales of conservatism, but I do think there are sharp differences. We have three candidates with a strong Hispanic relation: Cruz, Rubio, Jeb Bush. The latter two are establishment based Republicans, the first is the Tea Party poster boy. Then there's the "libertarian" minded, but a more realistic version of his father, Rand Paul. The anti-politician black Ben Carson (pretty much this years Herman Cain). Potentially Jindal, the Indian "new-wave" conservative figure. Christie, well he's Chris Christie. And then a few preachers could pop their heads in with Perry and Santorum.

It's not really a year of preachers vs establishment (but still preachy) conservatives, but men with a huge range of backgrounds and ideas. There's no way to even compare Rand Paul to Chris Christie. I believe all these candidates will bring a diversity of voters to the party, and as long as a more established and pro-establishment candidate passes the primaries he will win. While the democrats just have Hillary and a socialist.

I will say though, Hillary is by no way my least favorite of the Democratic side. While there's plenty of sketchy scandals to call her on, she's central enough where I wouldn't be too upset if she won.

I think a party of having a lack of figures really does hurt the party. The party will have one central figure come primaries, while the Republicans have the most diverse group of individuals, politically and ethnically perhaps ever. This will draw in a huge mass of voters to the party. And the democrats just don't have the 2008 or even the 2012 hype anymore, as I mentioned before the voter turnout, especially among minorities, will be much lower for the party.
They'll still have the advantage of electing the first female president - I think that'll give them a definite edge with casual voters.

...and the PC crowd who'll feel guilted into voting for her just to prove they're not sexist - but hey it it works, it works

The first woman president does have an aspect to it, but I don't think it will attract nearly as much hype as "first black president". Rappers were making songs about that for years.

I'm 100% sure it will be anybody BUT Obama i don't pay attention to these things that much lol

they seriously need to stop voting on someone by their gender, race, etc. I feel like Hillary will win just because people want to have our first Women President....that is not a good reason to decide a new President. Even though both sides have the same policies and this voting system is just a pointless facade for the Government to make us think we have freedom to vote for who we think is the best for our country when in reality we're getting the same thing whether we vote for one or the other.

Democracy......what is that? Never heard of it.....at least not here in America...

Does Trump really have a chance? Genuine question, I haven't been following any of this.

No. Yet he certainly does have his support. He has insulted Mexicans, laughed at McCains war record without ever serving himself, and gave out Lindsey Grahams phone number. He seems to be hoovering up all of the GOP airtime while destroying his slight chance at winning the Republican nomination.

"first woman" is not as appealing as "first black" because there are a lot of countries that will take us less seriously with a woman as president. Some people might not like hearing that but it is an unfortunate fact.

I'm not saying that we shouldn't have a woman because of it. I'm saying that certain people won't be swayed to vote for her, in the same way people were swayed to vote for the first black president.

I have no idea who will win, the field is still so deep.
