Yeah, that's minus two popcorns for Civil War.
It would have been a minus four if it had not been so well produced and had such good FX, but yeah, what's the point. The US has broken into a bunch of competing state-lets and somehow they all decide to have a war. Things get worse because they have contemporary weapons, so, no charges with muskets like 1776 and no non-fatal wounds or heroic poses. This goes on for 2 hours until the film runs out. Are things any better at the end than at the beginning? Who knows. I guess we will have to wait until Civil War II, The Next One.
The mainly no-name actors (especially Kirsten Dunst) do their jobs, which is mainly running, screaming and, in some cases, bleeding and dying. Blood and body parts fly and vehicles explode. Who are the good guys? I don't know, nor do I especially care. I just wanted to land my flying saucer like in the old Day the Earth Stood Still from 1950, have Gort get out and zap all of the combatants. Fighting a pointless war with no rationale merits disintegration by a giant robot.
This movie deserves disintegration by digital deletion.
