Marvin Gaye - Mercy, Mercy Me - OK, so I'm starting to struggle a little with my theme I admit. But this is still a warning about the end of the world. Just ecological rather than nuclear.

Liza Minnelli - Say Liza (Liza With A "Z") - I don't know if this is really well known and I've just missed it because I hate musicals (and that Broadway style), but I can't remember hearing it before. Really liked it, so thank you.

Marina and the Diamonds - Primadonna - A nice modern pop song. The sort of thing I'm hearing/listening to more and more.

Cat Stevens - Father And Son - A classic easy listen. Even for someone who doesn't like folk music or country, this is a pleasant few minutes.

Pavement - Passat Dream - I had a headache all of yesterday so I'm a bit fragile today. That being the case the start of this was annoying. All the background stuff in this means that, for today, it's lower than it otherwise might've been.

Nikki Lane - Send the Sun - This was ok, too. Maybe just we six should play? I'm going to regret that, aren't I?

Well, you've been around here long enough to know how it goes. If you agree with me you may well be right or correct, but you probably won't be on the side that's popular.

A system of cells interlinked
1 Concrete Blonde - Jonestown - It's funny. Most people know this band for their hit Joey, which is one of my least favorite tracks by the band. As you can see here, they can get fairly heavy at times, both sonically and thematically.

2 The Hu - Wolf Totem - I have heard a couple other tracks by this band, all of which I have liked.

3 13th Chime - Cats Of Toulouse - Reminds me of David Lynch films, which is a good thing.

4 The Like - Don't Make a Sound - I like The Like.

5 Red Hot Chili Peppers - Dani California - Not a huge fan of this bad, but this is a good tune.

6 Brian Eno - 2/1- Probably my least favorite track from Music for Airports. Any other track would have placed higher.

7 Hazel O'Connor - Eighth Day - Wasn't feelin it...

8 Davis Daniel - For Crying Out Loud - Bah

That elusive hide-and-seek cow is at it again

I already predict conflict in this round. Bowie, by default, should be #1. Always. But then there's the bias on whatever I submit for a nom. Hard times ah comin'. Oh woe is me.

Got me wishing I'd nominated a Lester Bowie track now just so I could add to that internal conflict
