Two Women Who Burn Their Own House

I would guess the movie was made in the 90s. Probably a LIFETIME flick. Maybe Made-For-TV... I'd say the women were in their 30s or 40s.. I believe one was a few years younger.

The ending of What's Eating Gilbert Grape has the four kids - two sisters and two brothers - removing furniture from a house before setting it on fire.

It's definitely not that one. I only remember those 2 women. I don't remember any men. Thanks though!

No, this had to be during the 90s when I was living at home still. For some reason, it feels like it was on Lifetime channel.

In 1989's She Devil, Roseanne burns down her house so that her cheating ex-husband (Ed Begley Jr) has to take custody of his children, much to the disgust of hubby's new paramour, romance novelist, Mary Fisher (Meryl Streep).

The movie I saw had no shred of comedy.

Do you know what motivated them to burn the house? Getting back at someone who owns ths house? Getting rid of something that is tying one of them down to that town/area? Cover up a crime?

It was done so nonchalantly. I think both women cleaned the house, and think quietly burned it down. I'm not sure they owned the house, but I think they did. I don't remember any other characters.

Thanks, but it's not that... The movie I saw was very somber, not too much energy. Lots of sadness it seemed.

What language was it in? What did the house look like? How old were the women? What kind of country was it filmed in? Forested? Desert? By the sea?

America. English. I think one woman would be around 45-50, blonde-ish hair. The other woman was a young adult I believe, brunette. It was a big house, but I didn't remember the exterior. If I had to guess, I'd say New England.
