Clerks II

Clerks 2 is a film that rather like the original is a marmite film, you love it or you hate it, there doesn't seem to be a middle ground. I don't think it is Smith's best film, for me what award goes to Dogma but I do think it is a good film none the less. I remember hearing in an interview with Kevin Smith on an interview for Mark Kermode he said that the idea of Clerks II was to see how the characters of Dante & Hicks had moved on, grown up and basically became they people they are. There are two scenes from both films that for me sum this up perfectly:

Both scenes for me are wonderful, they may not even win massive awards but they are honest, open and two people who may be friends but are not unwilling to telling each other exactly how they feel.

I might be one of the few people on the planet who preferred CLERKS II to the original.
In what way? Why did you prefer number two over the original?

I still haven't seen the original Clerks (the black and white turns me off) but I love Clerks II.

This one and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back are the only two films I still have to see from the View Askew series. The first Clerks is still my favorite one of what I've seen so far. I will probably watch the other two this week, so I'll be sure to let you all know what I thought of this one.

First Clerks is much better than the second imo. I haven't seen Jay and Silent Bob but Mallrats sucked.

I know it got panned but I really thought "Jersey Girl" was a fine film and very different to the usual films in the view askewverse
