The People's Republic of Clogher
The Usual Suspects was the first DVD I bought, it was also the first time I'd heard a director's commentary (having had the double VHS boxset with the commentary on one tape).

Picked a few newies up

Ran (Kurosawa)
Close Encounters of the Third Kind (Spielberg)
Pi (Arnofsky)
The Conversation (Coppola)
Heavenly Creatures (Jackson)

Two in the mail and 3 at the store.

There was exactly one copy of Scorsese's Bringing Out the Dead at the store. I carry my DVDs and my nifty new Kubrick book up to counter, and the the kid behind the counter immediately proceeds to launch the Scorsese flick off the counter and onto the floor while attempting to ring the stuff up. When he went to pick it up, the sound of broken plastic rattling around in a plastic case filled my ears. Damn him. Damn him....
