Well I can say that if this was in the movie The Happening I would have liked it more.

I am half agony, half hope.
I have nothing constructive to say, Em, just that I like it. Good job!

Cool photo... I like the angle you shot it at... the way the light plays on it makes it look like nature is trying to reclaim one of its own….

Is that a house or an old country church?

thanks for asking, caity!! its an old church down past where my folks live. i can remember sitting on an old pew listening to the preacher and thinking it was past my bedtime. btw, i got my artwork i showed you!!!

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
I certainly like the photo, but what editing did you do to it? If I can also see the original photo, I can make more in-depth comments. Was this shot this Fall? I like the green sky, so I'd like to see how close it is to the original.

I like your photo a lot. I like the way that the house seems to be emerging out from the trees. I like that the missing door is mirrored by the missing boards above the porch.

In relation to n3wt's comment, it does look like a location scout's dream for a late 70's/early 80's slasher pic.

the original was in color..bright color!! it was shot last month ago-- right when the colors started to change. i will pm u a copy later....

thank you all who took the time to respond to this. i will post more photos as time passes and i get some good ones. as for the horror movie local, i kinda like the idea. never gave it any thought.

Registered Creature
I'm not sure why, but it reminds me of the house in Children of the Living Dead (EXTREMELY bad movie. Do not see it!).

Like the picture.

I would tone down the reds and bring out the greens.

Play with it, you might find some interesting shades of blue and orange come out out.

Personally, I would take the original. Turn it into black and white, and bring the contrast and brightness up ever so slightly.

Thought it looked like an old country church.... Do you know how old it is or if anyone is trying to save it?

Oh, and congrats on the art work. Where did you hang it?

Haunted Heart, Beautiful Dead Soul
the owner is in the process of tearing it down. as far how old it is, i will have to ask my dad.

the artwork- i havent hung it up yet!! i am still looking for that perfect frame! i am thinking of a gold frame. i do know where it will be hung. right in the den next to the cuckoo clock!

i will find the b/w shot i took and post it up later. along with some new ones i think are the best i have shot in awhile!!! thanks again everyone!!!

I am burdened with glorious purpose
the composition is pretty perfect.

I teach a bit of composition in my class and we discuss the "rule of thirds" and so I was looking at it with that in mind. And it's perfect!

Great job.

And yea, I wonder what a b/w would look like. But I can see where color is also good for the shot.

here is the version i did black and white... i am not sure if i like it or not.

It's okay... but it looks kind of lifeless and empty... the 1st one is definitely my pick of the two....

It's a shame the owner is tearing the church down...

I can't tell if my eye sight is fading but I'm still seeing some color in your B&W.
