40. Con Air (1997)

Director: Simon West
Cast: Nicolas Cage, John Malkovich, John Cusack, Steve Buscemi, Colm Meaney, Dave Chappelle, Ving Rhames, Danny Trejo

Why I Love It: It’s pure adrenaline packed fun. Nicolas Cage (and his horrible mullet and even more horrible accent) is so fantastically terrible and delivers his hilarious and ridiculous lines so perfectly that you’ll bust your gut laughing. Add to that some genuinely awesome performances by Steve Buscemi (“He’s got the whole world in his hands…”) and John Malkovich, plus the cherry on top that is John Cusack’s hotness (right, Weeman?) and you’ve got one of the most entertaining movies to ever come out of Hollywood.

39. The Boondock Saints (1999)

Director: Troy Duffy
Cast: Willem Dafoe, Norman Reedus, Sean Patrick Flanery, Billy Connolly, David Della Rocco

Why I Love It: It’s violent, over-the-top, profane, ridiculous, hilarious fun. Plus Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flanery are pretty hot in it and this is, for me, Willem Dafoe’s most memorable role.

38. Catch Me If You Can (2002)

Director: Steven Spielberg
Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks, Christopher Walken, Martin Sheen, Amy Adams, Jennifer Garner, Ellen Pompeo

Why I Love It: It’s escapism at its best. Who hasn’t fantasized about becoming somebody else? DiCaprio is fantastic as likeable conman Frank Abignale, Jr. (who is actually kind of an ass in the book the film is based upon) and Hanks is excellent as crabby but determined bank fraud specialist Carl Hanratty.

You continue to deliver a list that's about as far removed from an AFI list as is possible. And I love you for that Vicky!

With all the animation I had a little feeling that Surf's Up may appear at some point. And I'm very pleased to see that I was right; great little film. As you saw from my review I'm another big fan of the ridiculousness that is Con Air, while Catch Me If You Can is a really classy, underrated flick.

Also I'm really quite curious to give Boondock Saints a try now after seeing how many fans there are on here.

I'm surprised that you haven't seen The Boondock Saints, JayDee. I definitely recommend that you give it a try, it seems like it'd be your kind of movie.

Well what would you like me to get to first, Quills or Boondock? If you keep dropping by my Movie Musings I'll perhaps review one and dedicate it to you like I've done in the past. I like to reward my regulars

Quills is by far the superior movie. Start there.
That means watch The Boondock Saints.

I like Catch Me If You Can.

Finished here. It's been fun.
The Boondock Saints is one of the best action flicks ever. Very entertaining movie.

Watch Quills first, then watch with The Boondock Saints. That way if you dislike Quills, you have a bad ass action movie to look forward to.
I'm okay with that idea.

Always watch the movie you're looking forward to most FIRST. That way, you have the energy to enjoy it.

Ignore him.

Also it's not like I'm expecting you to watch them both the same day or anything.
