To answer your questions, Camo, I fought for them, but I'm not the only one deciding on the nominees. I was out-voted. Sorry to disappoint, friend. There Will Be Blood is a good movie; not sure why they didn't notice that.

3:10 to Yuma and Zodiac are WAY better than most of the movies listed here. These nominations suck.

Obligatory 3-day warning, even though no one gives a flying rip about this.
A bit unnecessary, no? Me and Miss Vicky as well as a few others have took the time to vote in these. While another established member JJ has a similar thing going on that focuses on Best Picture winners. I mean who is going to actually think about which film deserves the Sound Mixing award? You're also nominating amongst people outside this forum that results in alot of favourites here being ommited, meaning certain members wont have much interest in voting. It also wouldn't hurt to post outside of this thread, so that you become more known to the site and people actually feel compelled to open your threads.

^This.

Maybe if we actually knew you, more MoFos would care. And probably if we actually got to take part in the nominations process, more MoFos would care.

If you're going to bitch about the lack of participation in your film awards, you're just going to end up with even less participation here.

Thane of Glamis, Thane of Cawdor, & King Hereafter
When I say no one gives a flying rip, it's not only here. It's everywhere. I'm sorry I snapped, I really am. I'm just tired of feeling unappreciated/under-appreciated, and being told that I suck at everything I do and try. So I'm so sorry that I get tired of it and lash out at everyone.

And rauld, I've tried posting outside of these things. You know what happens? The messages are either over-looked, or the topic dies, leaving everyone to believe I'm not here. And when I'm not here, I'm either on other forums, trying to promote this bloody thing; I'm on YouTube, trying to prove I'm not worthless; I'm at college, trying to prove that I'm smarter than I seem; or I'm out looking for a better job, trying to prove that I'm not a loser.

But it's fine if you all don't understand. I haven't exactly found anyone who does enough to realize that I can get on edge really easily anymore.

I actually like the idea Browning and I'm not against it. I kind of feel pike me and you are on the same page with our lives. It is frustrating when you put time into things and they don't work out how you wanted them to. Its OK though, people can be pretty cruel in this world.

I've tried posting outside of these things. You know what happens? The messages are either over-looked, or the topic dies, leaving everyone to believe I'm not here.
If you want us to like you, you need to jump in with both feet. I looked over your post history and most of them seem to be in these Film Awards threads. You need to branch out. Post some reviews or something. They don't have to be lengthy reviews, a few words in the Movie Tab or Rate the Last Movie You Saw threads will give us a better picture of who you are as a cinephile. Another easy way is to post in some of the numerous personal Top 50/Top 100 lists several of our members are currently working on. Give people plus reps and let them know what you like. Participate in the discussion for the ongoing 1970s Movie Countdown. Become part of the community, because so far - to me at least - it feels a lot like your interest here is just to further your own project.

But it's fine if you all don't understand. I haven't exactly found anyone who does enough to realize that I can get on edge really easily anymore.
We do understand frustration and feelings of inadequacy. It's not a question of understanding but more a question of not knowing enough about you to feel much sympathy for the situation. If a friend gets frustrated and lashes out at me, I'm willing to forgive it. But if someone I don't really know does it, I'm more likely to turn my back on them. And I think a lot of people feel the same way.

Crap, crap, crap! I am so sorry, guys! I forgot to tell you who won! Well, to be honest, you guys were the majority (first time a group outside of the norm did so), and it shows, I would think:

Best Picture: No Country for Old Men

Best Director: Coen Bros. (No Country for Old Men)

Best Actor: Daniel Day-Lewis (There Will Be Blood)

Best Actress: Ellen Page (Juno)

Best Supporting Actor: Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men)

Best Supporting Actress: Amy Ryan (Gone Baby Gone)

Best Original Screenplay: Juno

Best Adapted Screenplay: No Country for Old Men

Best Animated Film: Ratatouille

Best Original Score: Ratatouille

Best Sound Editing: The Bourne Ultimatum

Best Sound Mixing: The Bourne Ultimatum

Best Production Design: Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

Best Cinematography: There Will Be Blood

Best Makeup & Hairstyling: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

Best Costume Design: Elizabeth: The Golden Age

Best Film Editing: No Country for Old Men

Best Visual Effects: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

And if these aren't the results you are looking for, please don't kill me; I'm merely a messenger boy for this particular post.

And on a completely different topic, I have heard your statements about wanting me to do something just for this site (or that's what I am choosing to take from it), and while I don't know exactly what is it yet, I am going to do something for THIS SITE ONLY! (Don't tell the other sites; they'd get jealous and stuff!) I am open to ideas (outside of "end the film awards", because that's one of the 'brain-children' that has actually gone somewhere), so if you got something I can do, let me know.

absolutely atrocious nominees, shocking....
