The MoFo Top 100 of the Nineties Countdown

If that's not the best post in MoFo history then I don't know what is
It's any of the posts I've made with pics of Drew Barrymore. That, or the ones when people say I'm right.

Well, I wasn't really back and actively posting a lot when the call for the 1990s list was made, months back. Pretty good lookin' list, Y'all. And my personal number one, GoodFellas, was the concensus number one, so my votes wouldn't have changed that outcome, anyway. Some of the others might have shifted up a bit here and there. I doubt any of mine that didn't make the list would have magically made the cut, paired with other invisible votes?

Anyway, since it was kinda moot, I didn't put quite as much thought into it, but here's the list I probably would have turned in, I reckon, with each film's position on the finished list, as is (if any)...

1. GoodFellas, #1
2. Unforgiven, #12
3. Miller's Crossing,#37
4. Rushmore, #87
5. Hamlet (1996)
6. The Thin Red Line, #28
7. SE7EN, #4
8. Fearless (1993)
9. Eyes Wide Shut, #15
10. A Perfect World (1993)
11. Short Cuts, #93
12. Barton Fink, #41
13. 12 Monkeys, #61
14. L.A. Confidential, #8
15. Defending Your Life (1991)
16. Being John Malkovich, #26
17. Dead Man, #35
18. Schizopolis (1996)
19. Ed Wood, #49
20. Joe Versus the Volcano (1990)
21. The Age of Innocence (1993)
22. The Butcher Boy (1997)
23. Groundhog Day, #25
24. Shallow Grave (1994)
25. Grosse Pointe Blank (1997)

Fifteen out of twenty-five, assuming the list didn't change as far as the bottom handful, only positioning. That's about where I'm projecting myself to be on the '80s list, with fifteen or so. Though only three of mine are in the top ten (GoodFellas, SE7EN, and L.A. Confidential). Wonder if I'll go two-for-two with number one picks, when the '80s list is finished?

Cool. I won't miss the '70s list. That's my favorite decade, Turkeys!

One good thing about this countdown that I now see... that stupid Dead Alive movie... the film Gbgoodies made such a fuss over when it was nominated in that "Comedy HOF" thing... it only received 1 point.

I don't dispute that it deserves 1 point in this countdown list, but I still say that Dead Alive didn't belong in a COMEDY HoF.

Looking through my posts in this thread i found the list i sent in for this. It would be a lot different now.

1. Unforgiven - 1992
2. Fight Club - 1999

Well the comedy HOF is pretty much dead, but Dead Alive was much funnier than some of the nominated films. Anyway if I'd seen it in time for this countdown I might have voted for it.

Also, this was a crazy thread. Lots of fun.

Oh my God, we are not seriously bringing up the Dead Alive bullsh*t again, are we? That is a sh*tstain of a memory for all of us, I'm pretty sure.

This was my list and I'm proud of it:

1. Pump Up The Volume
2. Scream 2
3. Kindergarten Cop
4. Flatliners
5. Basic Instinct
6. The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
7. Mrs. Doubtfire
8. The Doom Generation
9. Serial Mom
10. Party Girl
11. Chasing Amy
12. Dogma
13. Candyman
14. Ride with the Devil
15. Forrest Gump
16. Fight Club
17. American Beauty
18. Jackie Brown
19. Titanic
20. Good Will Hunting
21. Contact
22. Awakenings
23. Terminator 2: Judgment Day
24. The Ice Storm
25. A Very Brady Sequel

OK, a couple of these things I'm sorta not proud of, but it's not what any "ordinary" person would think. A couple of these would probably be replaced today with something else -- Awakenings, The Ice Storm, Ride with the Devil. And I'd put some of these higher, others lower.
