Love love love One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest I disagree about the fishing scene. It's more time spent with the characters and that serves a purpose in and of itself.

2. Pulp Fiction (1994)
This is what an entertaining film really is.Some people tend to think that simple films or as other people call it - films for fun should be stupid,badly-acted etc. Pulp Fiction just proves that entertainment also has to have quality.
Basically I love it (as I love many other Tarantino's work) for the dialogues,colorful characters,strong females,great music,plot twists and that feel of elegance or authenticity.Also there are lots of small details(like Mia mixing cocaine with heroine) or short scenes(dance scene) which make this film much much better.I noticed that this masterpiece is also one of those rare films which are liked both by mainstream audiences and sophisticated viewers and that is an uncommon thing.
Anyway,whenever I want something fun from the film industry,I know that Pulp Fiction will provide it.The title even says that.
This is my favorite scene from the film.Basically such scenes (that feel of something real and unreal at the same time) is the reason why I watch films overall.
P.S. funny thing that the first time I saw this film not in the original language and totally disliked it.Then after a month,maybe even sooner I rewatched it in original language and since then I love it so much.Guess talking really means much with Tarantino.

1. The Godfather (1972)
When Godfather was released Steven Spielberg stated that he thought of quitting directors career as he knew that he will never create something as perfect as The Godfather.Honestly,I believe that it will take decades to see something as great as this film.
It may seem banal and completely unoriginal but Godfather is the best film my eyes have witnessed.I couldn't say that it is my favorite film(it is one of the favorites) but it is definitely the best.
Now,why do I like it so much?Basically because it is great at everything.Usually films have only one or few things which are really good,like acting,plot etc. and other things are mediocre or even bad.Well,that's not the case with the Godfather since everything in it is above average.Acting is definitely not typical,characters are being quoted even today.Cinematography just flows along with the story.Music,authentic details and costumes takes the viewer back into the 40s.Dialogues create this artistic yet real atmosphere.

My favorite baptism scene just proves how great this film is.Notice how the music stops,when the priest ask Michael if he believes in God or if he renounces Satan?Or how whenever he answers that he renounces Satan,someone is killed by his orders?I love this contrast of baptism and killing,I love how this scene is shot and put together and the acting is so subtle but still astonishing.That's just a scene but basically all the film is like that.

Favorite Movies
This is the whole list(it will be on the first page) if anyone wants to rate,comment or recommend for me something to watch,I'm open for suggestions.
My favorites on this list are Rear Window, Carrie, Seven Samurai, The Dark Knight, Easy Rider, Full Metal Jacket and Aguirre. All of those are great. It's also nice to see Oceans Twelve, which I don't think I've seen on a favorites list before but is easily my favorite of the series. Oh and I liked The Ring a lot too. Overall I suspect we share an appreciation of style-obsessed filmmakers.

Daniel,I would recommend Bonnie & Clyde,Scarface and Leon from my list.Considering that you like crime genre,I think you will enjoy those.Also,seeing that you basically love my top 15,I think you should see One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.
no but I have it on my watchlist.I was planning to see it some time ago but when I was so disappointed by The Black Dahlia which is also directed by Brian De Palma,I never got around to see Casualties of War.
I enjoyed the sequels,although the first one was clearly the best.One film of the series which really bothered me(I'm pretty sure it's the last) was the one where Julia Roberts played Julia Roberts,that was stupid.

I think my film odyssey started when I was about 15 or 16,although I felt the love for the films even earlier.I should thank my parents for letting me watch Kill Bill when I was way too young for that film.
I like your ratings(except for The Beach,this movie isn't that bad!) and I noticed that you often give near perfect score (3.5-4.5) which means that our tastes are not exactly alike.Judging from your list,I noticed that you equally like both arthouse and entertaining films and I really admire that.
I think I've seen most of the modern entertaining classics so later on I want to watch more old classics,foreign or simply not so known films.I've seen some and mostly disliked them,so this "research" will be slower but I also found some true gems and I want to discover more!

It's also nice to see Oceans Twelve, which I don't think I've seen on a favorites list before but is easily my favorite of the series.
Overall I suspect we share an appreciation of style-obsessed filmmakers.
