I heard someone say it was a rip off the Law & Order episode "Delicate", so I watched that, but the show is more of a cat fight between two performers, it doesn't even tread any further.

ill definitely have to check it out once theres a decent copy i can download or it comes out of theaters.
2001 A Space Odyessy I guess since many of us don't know what the hell was going on.
I wonder to what extent "original" plotlines aren't mostly fundamentally non-original plotlines with different cinematic herbs and spices thrown in to make it harder to recognize. In other words, to what extent are plotlines real and not symbolic? Maybe the artistry of a narrative is in the spices, not the plotline!
I read in some book on screenwriting that Pulp Fiction, if linearized fits a conventional pattern. I will have to get back to yall on what this pattern is.

Hero(es) screw(s) someone. Hero(es) get screwed, Hero(es) try(ies) to get back their Mojo(s) by screwing someone or correcting a previous screwjob.

That makes sense actually. Not an epiphany for me since I never held Pulp Fiction on Cloud 9.

Have you really never 'reconstructed' Pulp Fiction, PN? Did you know that The Gold Watch was the only story that Tarantino came up with?

Not on my own, no. I dunno... I'd still count it as more original than a linear film, since it is not a linear film! What I mean is, what makes a film interesting is not really a plotline but how the film interprets that plotline.
Pulp Fiction can be considered innovative in filmmaking, but an original plotline??
It's a mishmash of multiple plot ideas...
But somehow many will disagree with me, it even won in the best written movie poll here & on IMDB as well..

It's not innovative in filmmaking. It's not as if deliniear filmmaking started with Pulp Fiction. It was (more so than now) unusual, especially, in what was essentially a mainstream film but it's the dialogue and performances that make that film what it is, IMO.

Pulp fiction is different and it has some original qualities and some unoriginal qualities.
in my opinion what sets it apart is the sterling acting.

It's the screenplay that makes Fiction the most talked about film from the 90's, fo sho. And then the acting. For me, when Nolan busted out with Memento, I didn't think a plotline could get anymore original. Sure, there have been lots of non linear films since the dawn of time, but ask yourselves how many have used the device as effectively as Memento? This is the film where the plotline forces US to be Leonard Shelby. Following uses fractured narratives too, but to a much lesser extent. It's still quite disorienting and original too. I don't have to mention Inception at this point, do I?
Saw a time travelling film called Lajeeta. Done in stills and from what I could make out theplot seemed pretty original.

Memento is overrated The plot twist is not terribly original, a varaition on themes from Cornell Woolrich.

Each to their own. Had to google Cornell Woolrich, sounds like an interesting author but if we are talking about bringing such themes to film, then Memento''s twist is still original and I think couldn't be more beautifully executed.
Memento doesn't have a twist, you know it 5 minutes in. The film's only redemption is its experimentation with its one trick pony, which gets old, probably because Shelby is boring.

I use the word 'twist' loosely when it comes to Memento. It's more of a revelation than anything. Don't know what 'one trick pony' you are referring to either, but this film is nowhere near as gimmicky as it's detractors make out. It uses very strong structuring to capture the mind of a disturbed man. Rather than just mismash everything together, Nolan went out of his way to make sure the structure served the story and characters, which is far easier said than done.
