Ernest Scared Stupid (the best horror film ever)
Ernest Goes to Jail (the best prison movie ever)
Ernest Saves Christmas (the most heartwarming Christmas movie ever)

my top three. Easily better than his less than perfect efforts, Ernest Goes to Camp and the disappointed Ernest Rides Again.

Though Ernest was great with his cross over sucess in the classic film adaptation of the greatest TV show ever, The Beverly Hillbillys. Here Ernest not only shows he can master one character, but also capture the inner workings and fish out of water torment of a man named Jed. I've never seen a film click quite so well with an actor in a lead role. No one else but Ernest could have pulled off the situation of a man who was hunting for some food, then up came a bublin' crude and went off to Beverly. Ernest goes to Beverly and must find himself lost in a different culture while giving his family the strength and will to survive the urban jungle, and at the same time hold on to the traditional morals that he brought his family up with, that are threatened in the materialistic Beverly society.

So while yes those three Ernest movies are Ernest's best films by far, don't forget that Ernest is a very very talented actor and his achievements go far beyond his self-titled efforts. It's a shame he passed on several years ago. His films are timeless and his name will be known through the ages.

Ernest wasn't in it. That's how.

If being embarrassed by a superior intellect considered fighting, then yes you did.

It's nice to finally get some recognition for it too.

Okey dokey, the best three eh?

1. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
Yes, drugs may ruin your life, but that still doesn't stop them from being amusing. Watching Johnny Depp and Bernicio Del Toro stagger through an amusement park on an Ether Binge and mescaline high is too funny for words.

2. Fight Club -
Best twist of all time, and contrary to the what the name suggests, it isn't just about a bunch of pugilists. Brilliant commentary on everything from commercialism to insomnia, to self help groups and terrorism.

3. Detroit Rock City -
Hehehehehehehheheh.... heh... Getting to a KISS concert. Adventuring 80's style. I've never laughed so hard in my life.

1. Star Wars
2. Matrix
3. Back to the Future

The Shawshank Redemption
Se7en
The Great Escape

Also anything with Jean Claude Van Damme in should be banned from being made!!

No offense, I just needed to get that off my chest.

My favorites are:

Sling Blade
Goodfellas (also overrated, unfortunately)
True Romance (the only cool thing in which Tarantino's ever been associated)
Woah there, you can't just call it "pathetically overrated" without giving any kind of reason why you think this way.

When it was all over I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end..."

LOL I just finished reading the entire thread and I have to say it's the funniest I've read in a long time

1. Braveheart

2. Glory

3. Forrest Gump

2. Evil Dead 2

3. The Road Warrior

I'm not reinventing the wheel here, but these are my favorites...
1. Pulp Fiction
2. Fight Club
3. Goodfellas
Lately I've had a hard time ranking anything past my top 10, but I'm rewatching old favorites and getting my mojo back. But these have been the top 3 for a long time and only a few movies threaten their position: The Godfather and City of God. I know all these films are violent, but my taste does transcend the violence. Hell, Gandhi is probably in my top 20.

Here to support the villians.......
1. Goodfellas

2. The usual Suspects

3. The Godfather
