Movie You're Watching Tonight

Yuck. Having a migraine for one day is bad enough. Four is terrible. I hope you recover sooner than later.

I actually watched a different courtroom movie with Gregory Peck the other day; Hitchcock's Paradine Case. I think To Kill a Mockingbird is a better movie though.
Thank you! Not my first migraine rodeo by a long shot, but this isn’t fun, naturally. I can’t really read until it passes, but at least I can watch films. It’s been a good excuse to have a very lazy few days, at least.

I haven’t seen The Paradine Case in ages. My father adores Hitchcock, and we would watch all his films on repeat throughout my childhood; but don’t think I ever revisited that one. Peck is undoubtedly one of the greats, but as far as To Kill a Mockingbird goes, I feel the most impressive performance is Mary Badham’s; hard to believe she was ten years old.

Pair of pants, shorts from France...

Yeah unfortunately I know how it goes as well. I used to get migraines frequently, although it's tapered off quite a bit since my divorce. Hm... I'm glad you have some way to pass the time. There's hardly a worse feeling than a migraine.

She was good too. I think To Kill a Mockingbird is a solid film though I don't remember much of it being really stand-out. I did admire Gregory Peck in it though. I've always liked him. He has that deep baritone voice and smooth manner. The film is fine overall.

This is perfect. Crazy that they’re growing sweet potatoes. Utterly harrowing, but I didn’t expect anything different from a film about 1960s Japan. Will need to space these out.

One other thing with Sinners that diminishes it a little is the extended final battle includes flashes, only 1-2 seconds long, of a couple good guys getting overpowered and bitten by Vampires.

The problem? They don't exist in any other scene. It's very clear who all the living goods guys are in the fight up to that point, and they weren't there. The good guy team just randomly spawned two additional guys, who die immediately. And I googled it, a lot of other people noticed too.

Either the battle was shot first and their characters were cut out, or the director REALLY wanted a couple more humans casualties so much that continuity was out the window.

Well, jokes aside, of course they are setting up a sequel — so that figures.

Love the movie. Seen it many times. Love the scene where Peck shoots the feral dog with a shotgun, which amazes his son who never would have guessed his father knew how to shoot a gun. Great scene.
