I really thought At Play in the Fields of the Lords would do better, but I seem to pick movies that end up towards the bottom of the pack. For me it was the total on location shooting in the Amazonian jungle that captivated me. I've loved the rain forest since I was a kid and got a chance to visit there and it's amazing.

Gone With the Wind I don't think anyone wanted to watch that film after the HoF had basically finished. Myself, I was glad to rewatch it as it had been years since I last seen it.

Trouble with a capitial 'T'
The wife and I watch all movies together including all the HoF movies. Usually we agree on the movies but on Inside Moves my wife didn't really like this one but I thought Inside Moves while not perfect was a very cool movie.

Trouble with a capitial 'T'
I kinda thought Persona might win. I didn't tally the movie points until yesterday so I had no idea what position the movies would be in but during the HoF Persona seem to get alot of positive reviews.

Congratulations to Raul for Past Lives, 1st place winner!

And congrats to Phoenix for 2nd place with Leila and Her Brothers!

Thanks everyone for seeing this through and finishing! Hope you had fun

just like we all predicted from like the first week on lol. i think i had one of the less enthusiastic reviews of past lives and it was still comfortably in the top half of my ballot.

Trouble with a capitial 'T'

Some of the movies were so well received that other members voted them 1st on their ballots. It is always an honor that someone else likes your movie so much that they voted it over their own nom...So a special Members Choice Award for these movies.

Leila's Brothers received three 1st place votes from the other members

These movies all received one 1st place vote from another member.
Past Lives
Before the Rain

Persona
Gone With the Wind

Ah shucks, 11th place. Now that I'm getting to understand how these HoF things are meant to go, I'll aim for 10th next time!
Listen, two places from the bottom is my spot pal!

blue turned out to be one of the best movies i've ever seen. big big thanks for nominating it Takoma
Glad you liked it! I loved it even more on a rewatch, and I'm glad some others got something out of it. And likewise, I really enjoyed The People's Joker and it placed very high on my ballot. Would have loved to see it in the theater.

I was pretty sure that Past Lives was a lock for first place, but no complaints because I fell in love with it at the theater and only liked it more the second time around.

It was nice having an HoF where I appreciated all of the films. Gone with the Wind is the only one I didn't care for, but heck, it's a cultural fixture and it's good to have it crossed off of the list.

I forgot the opening line.
I'm glad so many people enjoyed Leila's Brothers - going with a movie that hardly anyone on the forums has seen yet always feels like a bit of a risk, so despite the fact that I was blown away from it, there's that element of the unknown. 2nd place for that is something I feel more happy about than some of my HoF wins!

In the meantime, Past Lives is an awesome movie to see up there on the wall of winners (congrats Raul!), and is one I love a great deal. It was 2nd on my ballot simply because I cynically put my movie in top spot, but I think it was the best and the 1 point differential didn't make any difference (if I was voting in an awfully tactical way, I could have put it last and snuck in a win in the most unethically underhanded way possible.)

Persona was my third as well - the rest a mix.

Loads of thanks to @Citizen Rules - a months long responsibility that deserves many plaudits, especially considering just how smoothly this ran, the amount of fun it was and the difficulty of herding us all through those gates like a gaggle of unruly geese.

Thanks to everyone else as well!

Latest Review : Before the Rain (1994)

Women will be your undoing, Pépé
It's a nice touch to have a Members' Award, and I'm proud to be one of those First Place for Phoenix's Leia's Brothers in a HoF with such a constant overflow of pleasant surprises, including our First Place, Past Lives. It's a lovely bit of kismet that the first film we all watched with a general agreement DID take the #1 position. Fantastic job, raul, CONGRATS!! It was at #3 for me only simply because a beloved film The Good, The Bad, and the Weird held #2 for me. Even with the wealth of pleasant surprises, I would have been remiss NOT to place a beloved film so very high. Persona was at #6 for me and exceedingly happy to see it hit #3 overall. As I've remarked in the past, Bergman has always been a difficult hurdle for me to appreciate and enjoy thoroughly, and it has been through these HoFs that it has been possible. YAY.
In a HoF of pleasant surprises, my final one is seeing my "Blind Grab" Rocco placing in the very middle at #6. Considering my placement at #9, for the glaring reason I stated previously regarding Rocco's support of a raping brother. I'm still boiling over from that. And it had every potential of being a favorite for me otherwise. Such is the adventure in this sojourn of film watching.
BRAVO, EVERYONE!!
