This weekend, I aim to get to at least two of these:
Odd Job
Grey Zone
Pawnbroker

Odd Job I own, and it's been waiting for me to watch it for two weeks, and the other two are library movies with one renewal left, so I need to hurry up and watch them. All three look great. I just haven't felt like I have the focus for a movie the past ten days.

I hate insomnia. Oh yeah. Last year I had four cases of it, and each time it lasted three months.

Was told this morning that this is the best Nordic political thriller ever made. Hyperbole, hyperbole, but I’ll watch it.

This was great.

Going to watch The Odd Job!

Going to cry because of The Odd Job. I don't know if the movie is sad because I couldn't watch it. The DVD is unwatchable. It stuttered every second and I can't watch a movie like that. I'll have to try something else...

Further addendum; I found a way to watch Odd Job online, so I can do that. Hopefully I can get a refund on the DVD.

Addendum; I am a little over a third into The Odd Job (I decided to shower because I was getting headachey from laughing so hard). Yeah based on my parenthetical, it should be evident I'm enjoying it. Graham Chapman wrote a strong first act. Now to see if the remaining 50 minutes are awesome too.

Rewatch.

Still loved it as much as the first time around.
Perplexingly, the ushers at my favourite cinema told us there are two post-credits scenes… Initially, I thought I left early and missed one during the premiere, which doesn’t sound like me. But no, I had seen the exact same film. As far as I understand, there is just the one; I stayed until the lights came on. On the other hand, it made me think about a definition of a scene when it comes to things like this. Odd.
There was also an actual fight — not a verbal altercation but a brief physical tussle — about 15 mins in over a young girl being on her phone, swearing, being all in each other’s faces, and all, which is not something I’d ever thought I’d see.

The Guy Who Sees Movies
I know that I'm jumping into the lion's pit. Tonight's movie was Star Wars III, Revenge of the Sith, the third installment of the prequel series of movies that plot-wise, preceded the first Star Wars episode of 1977, which was actually the 4th episode of what was intended as a 9 movie series. I haven't seen it since it was new, but tonight, it seemed over long, less plot than the run time could support. The clearly animated visuals seemed cluttered....too much animation power in those computers, too much stuff on the screen. Characters didn't have the freshness and energy of the original trilogy. We DID get to see Darth Vader put on his full suit for the first time, but that was a long wait. Oh well, sometimes, movies don't age well.

The next movie I'm going to watch will likely either be Grey Zone or Pawnbroker. I have them both from the library. The miniseries Lonesome Dove is at the library, so I'll need to get it on Monday, and Army of Shadows and Niagara are on their way to the library. I thought I had watched Niagara, except I apparently haven't, so I'm rectifying that soon.
