Gia Coppola's latest film, The Last Showgirl, has just been picked up by Roadside Attractions and will be released in time for the awards season.

The movie stars Pamela Anderson, and there's already talk about her potential Oscar chances...

The movie which is a great 84% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with critics takes audiences inside the glittering world of Las Vegas entertainment through the eyes of Shelley–as played by Anderson– a glamorous showgirl who must plan for her future when her show abruptly closes after a 30-year run.

Roadside Attractions Co-Presidents’ Howard Cohen and Eric d’Arbeloff remarked “Pamela Anderson will bring some much-needed stardust to the world of cinema this fall in Gia Coppola’s extraordinary film. We are thrilled to join our friends at Utopia to release this film into awards season.”
Really hope to watch this one as soon as it opens!

is this a musical?
No, I believe it's just an old-fashioned drama

i am surprised to see anderson getting a serious role.
From everything I've read, this is her big comeback role

I hope Elizabeth Berkley makes an appearance.
That would be quite something

Sadly the female field is so stacked I don't think Pamela Anderson can get an Oscar nomination but I can see someone using her quite a bit now that shes old.

Pamela Anderson and Jamie Lee Curtis did a Q&A earlier today

Wasn’t a bad movie, but I won’t be re-watching it. Jamie Lee Curtis over-acting as per usual. One critic said she took her rôle in The Bear & brought it to this movie. My thought exactly.

Pamela Anderson very nice in the movie. @Siddon posted that “she’s old”. She’s not old.
