You're talking about Pink Floyd's classic Dark Side of the Moon. This was a big underground rage on the net and such a few years back (though it couldn't have been too underground since it eventually showed up in "Entertainment Weekly" and whatnot). I've tried it, it kinda works in a few spots, but I didn't think it was anything especially cool or revealtory. If you hunt around the web, I'm sure you can find pages where folks'll tell you exactly where to start the synch. I'd warn you against wasting your time, but if it'll float yer boat, go for it.

I read all about that at some urban legends website (I forget the URL offhand)...it's a bunch of bunk, from what I understand. And yes, that's a GREAT song, and it fit in well at the end of "Mary." What a fun way to end a funny movie.

Hell yeah! I also liked the Cowboy Junkies version of Sweet Jane, playing in the backround when they are confessing their messed up love for each other...

another good use of a Queen song: Boheimian Rapsody(sp?) in Wayne's World. Everytime I here that song, I think of all the guys rockin' out and singing along in the little Garth-Mobile.

I don't know if it's actually in the movie, but "Where Do I Begin" by the Chemical Brothers fits absolutely PERFECTLY in the Vanilla Sky trailer. So beautiful.

boy, i am sooooo lame when it comes to knowing music, remembering titles, artists, and lyrics...i love to sing and i dance when no one is looking but i have absolutely no affinity for a passionate discussion about music...and i wish i did......I WISH I DID!!!! i have always looked at people in awe as they name bands, titles, former names, concert talk, etc. my brother is one music head......poor patti just sings them when she hears them on the radio....and misses half the words but just makes up words that seem to fit. harumph. oh well, we can't all be good at everything....except maybe Holden - myyyyy heeeero..sigh

i have passion for music allright, and i collect music that touches me...but it has to come to me....it doesn't come from within me the way it seems to when i see true music lovers sharing their passion and knowledge.

don't laugh too hard at me but THE ONLY thing i could think of upon reading through this thread is the opera music that opens Prizzi's Honor......because the song (Ave Maria) just gives me goose bumps the way good opera music does....i tried to see if there was a soundtrack to Prizzi's Honor. not much of a contribution to this thread, but maybe someone can play a tiny, tiny violin for me as i cry into my diet coke that i am NO MUSIC HEAD. boo hoo

Don't feel too bad Patti, I'm the same way. I'll hear a song I like, and I'll find a way to get a hold of it. I'm not big on buying music, but I'll buy a disc of a group I know. As far as music in movies, I'll sit through the credits if I have to to find out what song is what.

I liked the way that Elfman did the music for Edward Scissorhands. The man is talented when it comes to scoring music for a movie.

I actually tried this out when the "discovery" was made public (about 5 years ago, maybe more). It actually did work exactly as it's supposed to. And Snopes (the only "urban legend" website I know of) never said it was a "bunch of bunk." The only claim that I would call "bunk" is that the band (and Roger Waters in particular) purposely made the album like that. I think it's basically just a series of coincidences.

movies are great and sos some of the music my fav.
