Quiz Show, Starter for 10, Slumdog Millionaire, Magnolia, Requiem for a Dream, and National Lampoon's European Vacation all either have their main plots or subplots devoted to game shows.

You might be able to view Caesar Flickerman as a game show host since he's the TV host tied to the deadly game show, The Hunger Games. He's definitely smiley.
