Burt Bacherach RIP

Tools

Three time Oscar winning composer Burt Bacherach, whose work pretty much defined 1960's pop music, including the Oscar-winning "Raindrops Keep Falling on Head" and just about everything Dionne Warwick ever recorded, passed away yesterday. He was 93.

Trouble with a capitial 'T'
Just last night I heard a song written by Burt Bacherach for a movie's title credits. I read that this was song became a nationwide hit.

I'd give her a HA! and a HI-YA! Then I'd kick her.
Burt Bacharach wrote or co-wrote so many great songs, including one of my favorite songs that he co-wrote with Carole Bayer Sager and Neil Diamond.

The world of music has lost an amazing talent. R.I.P.

Wow. A musical legend. I had no idea he was 93. He wrote so many classics. My sister used to have an LP when I was little where Dionne Warwick sang Burt Bacharach/Hal David songs. It was so good. A couple of his (and David's) songs she sang, like "Don't Make Me Over" and I Say a Little Prayer" are among my favorites he co-wrote.

"The Look of Love" by Dusty Springfield was another favorite. Carole Bayer Sager (once his wife) was a writing partner and one of my favorites by them was "Arthur's Theme" (The Best That You Can Do) from Arthur. Man, the list just goes on and on. The guy was just so prolific. Godspeed, Burt.
