Movies that you wished were never, EVER made?

Actually The Godfather and The Exorcist had already set the new standard for box office, and if Jaws had flopped or never been made, Star Wars would have done the exact same thing to the business anyway. In fact, Star Wars is much more to blame than Jaws, because Star Wars was geared more explicitly for an audience of children (which Jaws certainly was not), and of course it was the movie that started the trend of making as much or more money with ancilarly products than the film itself. That did more harm than Jaws could ever hope to. So why not direct your silly bile where it belongs, at Star Wars?

Yes, it is.

Actually, Jaws is considered to be the blockbuster archetype.

They had temporarily escaped the factories, the warehouses, the slaughterhouses, the car washes - they'd be back in captivity the next day but
now they were out - they were wild with freedom. They weren't thinking about the slavery of poverty. Or the slavery of welfare and food stamps. The rest of us would be all right until the poor learned how to make atom bombs in their basements.

I completely agree with Holden, I was going to say the same thing but he beat me to it.

I too wish that LOTR had never been made... But that's just a personal thing.

Didn't he want to keep it as one film, but had to slip it up because it would've been over 4 hours long?

He has said that, but I don't buy it for a second. They went for the money, pure and simple. Nothing wrong with that, that's what the business is all about.

Welcome to the human race...
The movies that should never ever have been made are all sequels to Disney movies. Whereas the original movies e.g. Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Lion King etc had plenty of charm and integrity (and in some cases film awards) the sequels are straight-to-VHS/Beta/DVD/IroqPlay movies that use none of the original actors or musicians or anything except the animators. And none of them ever make a worthwhile success.

Give it up, peoples...

So many good movies, so little time.

Jaws wasn't about the shark. One of the best movies ever made.

And Pulp Fiction was tremendous. I will never forget watching it the first time and being stunned by it's brilliance.

Ha ha, I totally agree with you there. The only exceptions I think are "Toy Story 2" (which is not Disney, It's Pixar, Disney just distributed it) and maybe "Return to Neverland". I agree, JUST LEAVE THE CLASSICS ALONE!!!!!! Oh ya, they DON'T use the originol animators. They send the animation to other countries like Korea, Australia, and Canada.
Ok worst movies:
Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius
Atlantis: The Lost Empire
Spy Kids: "3D" (ya right, there was NO good 3D effects, and a waste of money going to see and the glasses hurt my eyes, if you want a good 3D expirience go to the Islands of Adventure and ride Spiderman)

I wish the love sick little girls trapped in 29 year old women's bodies wouldn't have made Titanic the largest grossing film of all time. I despise Titanic for this. If you want to bash a blockbuster movie with a boat out on the ocean, bash Titanic, not Jaws.
