I almost got banned once because of people making light of a child being molested.
Allegedly.
With no evidence.
A 14 year-old.
Barely molested.
It would be completely different if there was evidence, it was recent, it was a more serious molestation, and he had been younger.
I find it hard to believe that a fourteen-year-old being swooped up, carried to a bed, and laid down on top of briefly would cause serious trauma that lasted 30 years. It would have been a different story if there was evidence and he had been 6.
Also, why was this fourteen-year-old alone at the end of a party at Kevin Spacey's home? Who was his chaperone? Why didn't he leave with everyone else?
This whole scenario reminds me of what happened to Paul Reubens. His career was ruined because he was accused of having child porn. It turned out to be an erotic art collection that he hadn't even seen himself because he hires people to buy it for him, and it was young adults of questionable age, maybe they were 18 and looked 16, but it's not like he had porn of 12 year-olds. But even after the matter was cleared up and the charges were dropped, many people still just thought he was a pedophile. It ruined his image and his reputation.
As far as we know, Kevin Spacey could be completely innocent. I don't know about his reputation otherwise, and the comments to the effect that it may not be an isolated incident.
This also reminds me of the Bill Cosby fiasco. Why would people wait so long to bring forward allegations if they were so serious?
