Trouble with a capitial 'T'
The Male Animal - 5/10

Quite a long wait to hear the letter of Vanzetti... I couldn't stand the endless failed attempts at humor.

I seen that recently and agree, it was pretty forgettable. Here's what I said about it:
I was mostly bored by the movie and so have little to say, other than I didn't find much of the comedy funny. The actors were all good but the story didn't do a thing for me.

Jack Carson was by far the funniest character in the movie. Other than that, the only other plus is a lot of big name stars. No wonder I never heard of this one before.

The Male Animal sure looked good in the trailer that I watched but the movie itself was forgettable. Still not a bad way to spend 1 hour and 41 minutes.

King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword

Wha... what?!?

I thought the craziness of the trailer might of been misleading, it wasn't... the beginning of this film is like being thrown into a film that's already halfway through it's runtime... or I don't know, experts of this mythology might be able to make better sense of it.. to be fair I only got 22 minutes in but it was so jolting to my senses I had to put it to bed. No rating.

You can't win an argument just by being right!

for the CGI. That is all.

So instead of rewatching Blade Runner The Final Cut, my wife picked this movie to watch last night: Goodbye Mr. Loser

I told her she lost her right of picking movies for a week because of this.

Just got back from Blade Runner 2049. If I had a gun I would of put myself out of my misery. Terrible movie.

I haven't seen it. Just curious what didn't you like about it? And did you like the original Blade Runner?

Hugely entertaining. Seen it many times. Amusing to see Elizabeth Banks in a tiny role.

Someone went to see a movie and came away disliking it. What a surprise! Surely he's not being serious!

We seem to have similar taste in films. Catch Me If You Can is near flawless.

Sure is. 2-1/2 hours just flew by.

LOVE the scene where he comes through the airport surrounded by the flight attendants & completey fools Handratty.

I've only seen it once, so only vaguely remember that scene. I remember they filmed some of it at a closed airport terminal, which gave it a really cool 60s-early 70s vibe. I'll have to watch it again, just so I can review it.

The Man Who Wasn't There (2001)
Director: Coen Brothers

This is stunning film work!
Visually the use of shadows and high key lighting, silhouettes and Dutch angles, wide overhead shots and deep focus...are all here, and done to a level of sublime, that I've not often seen in a movie. This film should be used to train new directors in the art of lighting.

Billy Bob Thorton was one of the coolest-odd characters to ever grace a film noir. Damn he made this movie...with his deliberately stoic acting and his taunt face of stone...Then there's his remorseful, yet downtrodden voice over narrative. The narrative itself, is a thing of beauty, both in the way the lines are delivered and by the pulp philosophy that rings truer then most films would ever aspire to say.

This is a slow paced film with long scene length, smooth and even editing between the scene transactions. The Coen brothers even have the genius to let the screen go black for a few seconds, in between major acts.

I thought this would be a 5/5 and be added to my top 10. But true to Coen's style they go a little over the top with the UFO lady and the ending goes a little loose and broad. Still I can't complain as that's what the Coen's are known for, and I guess that's what you call an auteur's stamp.

It Just drags on and on. Original one was way better. Special effects were pretty good..
