Nah, it's Thor's day. Fitting, since I've spent a few Thursday nights quite hammered.
Annoying me right now - saw a video of a bread free ploughman's lunch sandwiched between 2 huge slices of gerkin. I wanted it immediately. Alas, no gerkin in the fridge.

Funny thing is, Thursday hammerings never happened to me until I moved fo a Nordic country.

Another thing that annoys me, people's failing grasp of the English language. I cringe every time I see someone using an apostrophe when trying to pluralize a word. I see this all the time online and lately have started to even see it on professionally printed signs in stores.
Also there's the word women. I see it used frequently when a person is referring to a single adult female person. I've seen it in articles and posts online. It drives me nuts.
And then there's the people I've worked with. I work at a vet clinic and I could not tell you how many times I've seen someone try to turn the word pus into an adjective by adding the letters S and Y.

When I make a bad pizza! I wait all week to hand make from scratch a pizza every Friday night, I've done that for years...But when the pizza turns out less than a 10, I'm annoyed!

Wow, really? I've never heard this. But then, I suppose my line of work doesn't involve a lot of pus.
I think the superfluous apostrophe thing (which I don't like either but caught myself doing it the other day) simply comes from people seeing it so often on the net. Becomes like an ear worm. I omit apostrophes a lot because some days my right hand wont (there you go) stretch and I'm too lazy to edit.
European printings of English language books by non-American authors that use American spelling these days pisses me off - I've no problem at all with American editions of those books or all editions of books by American authors using that particular bastardised version of the English language but it appears to be becoming the de facto 'English' language now in the literary world and that's just sad imo.

I dont mind Muricano spelling because I think it makes much more sense, but very hard for me to break the habit from Brit spelling. I had to laugh at some numpty the other day who went spelling nazi on me, not realising both spellings are different. And the funny thing was, he cant spell either way.
