Welcome to the human race...
In the interest of fairness (and possibly convenience) I only stuck to the years where I had seen all of that particular year's nominees. The results are obviously extremely limited (though it's worth noting that there were a lot of the years I had seen all but one of the nominees, but I still figured I should stick to my rule).

2016: Moonlight
2015: Mad Max: Fury Road
2014: Whiplash
2007: There Will Be Blood
1996: Fargo
1975: Jaws

Interesting....Jaws over Cuckoo's Nest, Dog Day Afternoon, and Nashville?
They're all good films that would have made fine Best Picture winners, but Jaws is quite simply my favourite of the five nominees - if I ranked them in order of preference it would go Jaws, Cuckoo's Nest, Barry Lyndon, Nashville, Dog Day.

Don't think this sort of thread will ever not turn into a best of each year thread but i thought i should point this out again after the last two posts.

You mean me? Kei's cousin?
